Upgraded to the Beta couple days ago. Disappointed that the setting to dim the wallpaper is dark mode in gone.

I’ve come to the conclusion that this new lockscreen functionality along with refinements with Focus modes are the game-changing feature Apple needed. My wallpaper changes each time I lock the screen so I have a different one every time I pick up my phone. I also have a different set of wallpapers that cycle for each Focus. Fantastic.

Agreed. I used only change my wallpaper a couple times a year. I’ve changed it about 10 times during this cycle alone. Absolutely love the ability to link to focus mode!

It’s a bit sad that the overlap only works when there are no additional widgets activated.
Probably they can tweak this a bit further until the final release.

Wow that’s pretty cool! Sounds like a lot of work to set up based on my experience so far just getting a couple wallpapers changed. But sounds fun / interesting too, I’ll keep trying!

Nope, can’t handle it, my OCD goes crazy with the widgets unless they’re the circle ones. See how your text in the moon lockscreen isn’t centered underneath the time displayed? Drives me NUTS!

I rotate through different pictures of my wife. Tried to get her in front of the time but I believe the photo is too big. Still playing with these.

Can you send the wallpaper please

LOL just kidding.

I too cannot figure out which pictures qualify for the depth effect feature.... is it the size of the picture? is it whether the picture was originally taken with depth effect? It's hit or miss for me.

lol! There are a couple that I use that are ever better. I get some interesting comments when people see them. Especially when she's there. :)

I noticed the suggested photos work good with the depth effect.

It's not restricted to photos taken with the depth/portrait feature, but that does make it better. I have found if you're looking to do the head-overlaps-the-time effect, you'll need to leave a bit of room at the top so the subject's head doesn't cover the entire time. I haven't figured out the exact ratio, but a little coverage is ok, a lot pops the time over the photo as usual. Sometimes it's a frustrating balance (and it seems to have shifted a bit throughout the beta cycle).

I think the main thing the phone is looking for is layers in the photo to separate. If the time can slip between them without obscuring too much of the display as to make it unreadable, it should slip between the layers.
