I'm sorry to hear that you've been having some problems with our Mac App not picking up music around you.
We know that there's been some problems with microphones on users' devices not being set-up in the necessary way, and have outlined the steps needed to remedy the situation in a Support article, which you can view here:

A forthcoming update to the app will fix this completely, meaning you won't have to re-configure your Mac in order to use Shazam.
