iOS upload

I would like to hear if someone knows how it is being done. How is the iOS being uploaded on a device manufactured before the release of the GM? Are the devices in original packaging and being unpacked and packed again all on US soil. Does it affect the cost or it is really insignificant?

I am very curious.

Just because the GM hasn't been released to developers doesn't mean Apple doesn't have a GM ready.

They have the GM on them. IF a bug shows up there will be a .1 release OTA.

Believe it or not Apple does not give out the GM the day it's ready.

You assume just because Apple hasn't released it. That it doesn't exist.

Bad assumptions are foolish.

Not going to happen. 16GB for the 5C, 5S starts at 32GB. That will help differentiate the two models.

They usually have at least 3 models to chose from in each product with some degree of overlap so my guess is we will see a 8GB, 16GB and 32GB iPhone 5C with the iPhone 5S upped to 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.

So you are saying...

...That Apple is shipping complete models before they have a complete GM of iOS 7? I would find that difficult to believe. If they did have a shipment-ready OS, why would they not release it to the developer community so that the developers could have their applications ready day 1? I'm not putting much stock into this.

I see what you're saying, but it's not really true.
They have size choices in the main product (iPhone 5 and iPad 4), but the cheaper ones do not.

Right now apple has the 5, 4s and 4. The 4 and 4s are only in one size each (8GB and 16GB). Only the flagship model has choices.

Same goes for the iPad 4 and Pad 2. The iPad 4 has choices, the iPad 2 has only one size.

This comment makes tons of sense. The entire purpose of the 5C is that it's cheap. Defeats the purpose on buying a cheap model if your willing to spend the money. But don't be surprised if the 5C is 8gig. Just saying.

So are you saying that until they release the product the rumours are not speculation, or until they release the product the speculation is still rumours?

Please explain it once more time as we're all having trouble understanding how this process works exactly..

People are making claims about the 5C based on different websites / blogs. I'm just making the point that it is all conjecture and rumor till the 10th when Apple shows off their new products (i.e. we really don't know what the 5C will have for storage).

I know we haven really gotten a good look at all the colors, but from what i can tell why do they have to be so girly (sorry for lack of better word). Would it kill apple to make a blue phone that isn't baby blue, or a green or yellow that doesn't look like an Easter egg pastel.

I predict with absolute certainty that Tim Cook will announce new products and that we will be able to purchase them when they are released.

So now you can stop bickering...

That would NEVER happen.

This is my BOLD predication but i think the 5C KILLS the 5S in sales!!!! Add to that but I would imagine you would take a lot of potential 5S people off of the market too.

Well I don't think that is that bold of a prediction. Obviously they are doing this for a reason, and that's because they know it will sell. Cheaper price makes it more accessible and "fun" colors that will appeal to kids and women. Of course it will be a big seller.

Apple hasn't really been that 'awesome' brand since the iPhone 4 In my opinion.

I upgraded from the 4 to 4S but only because it boots up faster, Infact I've regretted it for a while. I've always had Siri off so don't notice anything much different from when I had the 4.

Not planning on getting the 5 or the 5S or the 5C. It just seems since the 4, nothing has changed. It's just the same everything, nothing exciting. Hopefully one day Apple decides to come up with something great again but until then, I'll stick to my 4S.
