Amazon's shipping time for the 27-inch i5 iMac suddenly lengthened to 2 to 4 weeks. Amazon offered immediate delivery as of this morning. Hmmm...

just means they ran out and have to wait for more stock.

I overheard a tidbit from a couple of folks that I believe were store employees (they were in the mall food court with shirts off) that they can't order the quads yet. Seems they can't just buy a computer in store but have to order online and company won't let them order the Quads. And hasn't since they released. Because the employees always have to wait until demand dies down. Or so I gathered from the comments they were making to each other

Shipping times have also gone back to normal for European stores. At first they changed it to 2 weeks and now back to 24 hours for all standard models. :)

in Oz if you customise the iMac the shipping time reduces to 3-5 b/days... dunno why :p

Custom orders are done by a different line. because they are literally built to order. and then shipped one by one. typically air freight when possible. So if that area is not behind on orders you win.

Shipping update

Just order the 27inch i7 and the ship time says between 3-5 and 3-11 (3 to 9 days). We shall see...

Update... just received shipping notice that it left Shanghai on 3/6, looks like it will be 3/11 at best... so nine days total.
