Ships by July 14nd" - Now Prepared for Shipment!

Just checked Apple.com and saw my order had shipped and came on here to share and realized there were numerous pages on this already. Still sharing my stuff for everyone.

I ordered 3 minutes after you. Mine still says prepared for shipment. I live in California and they took the money out of my account today. I hope it ships soon!

Im wondering if something is wrong with my order. I ordered two phones around noon eastern on the 19th. They both changed to prepared for shipment on the 2nd, then on the 3rd one of them went back to not yet shipped while the other is still prepared. There have been no charges to my bank, I spoke with apple on the 2nd and the lady said they would ship tuesday. Now im reading of people who ordered after me whose phones are already stateside while one of mine isnt even prepared anymore. Anybody have any thoughts?

my order from 6/16 had been prepared for shipment since friday as well. tonight its gone back to not yet shipped. i would guess they were incorrectly updated to prepared for shipment and have just now been corrected.

I seriously don't know WTF kind of shipping setup they have, but orders for the iPad camera connection kit appear to be shipping out of order as well. Someone who ordered 5 days after I did has already gotten theirs; mine is still listed as not yet shipped with a delivery date of over two weeks from now. Looks like I'll be calling them myself tomorrow.

You can read the forum posts from people who ordered from ATT on the 29th or AFTER that either already have their phones or have tracking numbers!! How can they rationalize this? People odered almost 2 full weeks after me and they are getting shipped before mine???

at&t didn't release or accept orders until the 29th so they don't have a backlog like apple does.. that's how they rationalize it.. they are separate companies with their own separate supply of the product

Will you get the email saying that its shipped right away? Can anyone print screen how it looks like? Been waiting for 2 days stuck at Prepared for Shipment. Hopefully it'll change tonight. I want it this week, tried it out today at the Apple Store.

flip the script.. hi at&t customers who have no apple store near you anywhere.. but since they all sold well at those apple stores you had no access to, we're not going to let you get them at all...

apple's online store and at&ts online stores are retail outlets just like physical apple stores and at&t stores... they are NOT in competition with each other and therefor are all alloted an amount (likely based on sales history with previous iphones) to sell.. just because apple started selling there's on the 15th and at&t started selling there's on the 29th doesn't mean people who ordered earlier have any more right to them.. you were given an option to choose when and where and how you bought your phone.. someone chose a different method, from an entirely different company, that is their right and yours as a consumer.. if your not happy then cancel your pre order and buy it from at&t online or in store or whatever you want to do..

i bet you could buy it on ebay and get it in 2 days from now, that doesn't mean other people are disenfranchised or treated unfairly because they got it before them.

eg. you can buy a griffin reveal case at 25 different online stores, some will ship today, some will be back ordered and ship next week, neither of which are griffin's problem, I can see why you would be frustrated, as many people are, but you can't get pissed off at Walmart when someone on Best Buy's waiting list got there's first, word?

Given that Apple effed up my last order with them badly enough that my bank locked down my Visa and their fraud department called me... yeah, you know what, I'm more than a little neurotic on this score. Sooner's great if it happens. I don't honestly expect it to show up until they said it will. But yeah, you know, I do actually expect that orders placed through the same company will be handled in the order received. And when it's appearing that this might not be happening, then yeah, I'd probably better call, because Apple's already proven to me personally that they can't be bothered actually contacting ME if they encounter a problem with my order.

And given that some people have to arrange to be at home to sign for delivery, yeah, I can see why they might actually NEED to know when the phone's going to arrive...early or late.

Also, mine has been prepared to ship for a few days now. I live in seattle and would be super happy if i get it early. I am going on vacation on the exact days Apple says it willl be delivered. Is it a strong possibility that it will arrive on or before the 14th?

It's unfortunate that happened to you, I'd be rightly angry at that situation too. Have you considered calling FedEx and having them just hold the package at their facility so you can pick it up at your convenience? I know that is probably what I will be doing.

Although I will admit I am curious as to how they decide what phones get shipped when. I feel like there's a big stack of them in a warehouse somewhere and they just grab em randomly, but then again who knows.

So stoked it's going to be here early! even if it only turns out a week early, that's still sooner then expected, can't wait to get my hands on it! My case will be here tomorrow, I'm just glad it didn't come before my case did, I would hate to break it that 1 day it overlaps, lol! woot!

So you dont think that apple has any obligation to fulfill PREORDERS before giving ATT whatever allotment of phones they are selling? That is the issue to me here. I have a phone, Im an adult, Im not going crazy or freeeeeaaaaaking out as people on here put it. Im simply asking anyone to defend the position apple has apparently taken on this. They are exchanging phones, stocking store shelves, and fulfilling orders through resellers BEFORE fulfilling preorders. As I said, Its not going to have an affect on my life one way or another. Itll get here when it gets here, but I do take exception to you trying to say that it is perfectly reasonable that they are fulfilling orders for phones placed through ATT within as little as 3 days in some cases while my order has been placed for 18 days without fulfillment. And keep saying what you want about ATT and Apple being separate companies and having separate allotments of phones for sale, but the fact of the matter is that Apple controls every single phone that gets delivered period.

And i would also like to make clear that when I ordered my phones through apple (on the phone) the sales lady made it pretty clear that this was pretty much the ONLY way to get one. She didnt say "hey if you wait till the 29th to order from ATT, they'll have it to you quicker than if you order from us today". Had she mentioned that, then yeah, I agree that Im at fault for a poor decision to order from apple.

I did pick up two of those griffin reveal cases at walmart yesterday just because i want us to have some kind of case to put on them when they do decide to arrive.
