Because they don't update tracking every second of the trip. It will update after it gets to another check point and probably not the second it gets there, either.

I am going to predict that all the iPhones with the

will be in Alaska at around 3PM central or around 12PM Alaska time:D

Apple/FedEx is probably preparing for a mass shipment and they are trying to squeeze as many iPhones onto a plane as possbile ;)

Just woke up to see that my iphone finally shipped. Received the email 2:30 am, but just saw it now. Expected to be delivered on July 13th.

Also got shipment notification this morning.
16gb ordered on 6/18, delivery scheduled for 7/13. I'm in Hawaii so I hope it does not go via Alaska!

Note for anyone who's ordered a bumper at the same time as their iPhone - these are on backorder and earliest I was told that they would be ready for dispatch was 24 July. I ordered direct from Apple on 18 June and whilst my iPhone is ready to go the bumper wasn't and so my whole order was being delayed.

I've since cancelled the bumper order and will try source one locally.

I ordered the bumper at the same time as the phone (June 16) and it shipped separately on 7/3 and has made it to Newark, NJ.
The phone apparently stopped for a party in the Prepared for Shipment house.

Ordered 6/16 at 4PM.

As of this morning, shipped, and estimated delivery date is the 13th.

It's 1:30 A.M. in China right now so I guess the rest of Day 5 is going to creep by with no shipment as well.

I give up. They say it will "ship" by July 14th. I'm guessing 11:59:59 P.M. on the 14th. In the UTC -12 time zone no doubt. At which point they will "ship" it across the street, where it will spend 8-10 weeks in a staging area. Then it will finally go to the nearest port via bicycle courier, after which it will be loaded on a boat (but not before sitting on the dock for, I dunno, a few months). The boat will circumnavigate the globe before landing somewhere in the USA (whichever port is most distant from my house, no doubt). Then it will go by horse-and-buggy for final delivery on July 15, 2011. At which point Apple will announce iPhone 5.

hahaha.....:D

just curious, are all of us who ordered a week before others who already have their phone in-hand in one region of the country? I've been stuck on prepared for shipment since 7/3 and ordered on June 17th at 8:02pm and I live in a major metro area on the east coast...just still trying to make sense of the madness...it just doesn't seem fair that people who ordered almost a whole week later are already using their phones...(can you tell I'm jealous!)...poop!

June 17th, also 8:02pm, in Atlanta here. Still prepared for shipment. Getting irritated, which I feel like I shouldn't be because it still says "Ships by July 14th". *grumble*

LOL!

It's no better if it HAS been shipped. Mine is hanging out in Hong Kong and has been for more than 24 hours. I wonder what kind of trouble it found to get itself into? Hope it arrives with some great pics of its adventure... :p

Just woke up to see that my June 16th California order finally shipped. Estimated Delivery by the 13th (but it shouldn't take that long if other people's experiences are any clue). If you live in California and it still hasn't shipped, it's likely just a completely random process.

You forgot the part where the bicycle courier tours the entire Great Wall of China, and the horse (of horse-and-buggy) is liberated from his duties by animal rights activists.
