I placed my order on June 20th for a 16gb and it shipped out just now at 11:35 eastern time. Apple says delivery by July 12 but fed ex says the 13th. I spokemto someone from apple yesterday who said my order would be expedited and arrive by Friday but that isn't the case. I don't know how number porting works but my number was currently being ported to AT&T and I won't have the iPhone until Monday or Tuesday. I hope I don't lose service on my verizon phone until then.
I'm using my 3G for the time being. The 4.0 update has made it nearly unusable though. I'm pretty excited for the new phone, but I'm so tired of waiting, lol.
The money is technically "on hold". Apple checks to make sure the funds are available, puts a hold on that amount, but won't actually charge you until it ships. It make take 5-7 days, but you should see the money come back to your account. At least until it actually ships, that is
Same thing happened to me. I saw the money taken out, then 5 days later saw it "returned". I thought Apple canceled my order but it was just a pending hold.

im in the same boat man, iPhone 3G is super slow on the new 4.0. Can't wait for the iPhone 4!
Is it possible for Apple to lose your order? I'm still on prepared for shipment. I'm scared something is wrong.
They wouldn't lose your order. I've seen others being at that stage for a while too. Mine was at that stage for 3 days I think, maybe 4

hey guys those of you who just got shipping YAY, do your tracking on Boxoh and it shows you google map of where it is and you can switch it to satellite which is sweet cause you can check out all the places like google earth, that sweatshop they come out of is crazy huge, and there's a giant line of fed ex trucks sitting outside, and really that's all i see driving on the freeway it's next to

Mines still stuck at Prepared for Shipment, and I seen others in this thread that ordered after me changed to Shipped. It's been stuck at that for the past three days, it's currently 3:00pm in China, you think it'll get shipped out today? I live in Hawaii, btw.

What part of Hawaii? I'm in Maui till tomorrow. Mine was prepared for shipment before the weekend and went back to not yet shipped and then to prepared for shipment today. I'm going back to socal tomorrow and was hoping it would get there before I go back to work on Monday.
after reading this thread, I feel a little bad for being able to walk into a local Radio Shack last Friday and buy one of the last 32GB iPhone 4s they had...

Synced up and ready to go in a matter of an hour... (took 45 minutes to download, install (update) itunes, and restart comp, and get connection to itunes store, which was sorta a rediculous pain in the butt, but got it to work eventually)

Yeah it's a pain. I wouldn't mind waiting nearly as much if there was at least some discernible order about it.
Went there 3 years ago. My wife and I are having our honeymoon in Maui. Too bad they don't sell iPhones at the ABC stores cause there are plenty of them!

Ah, the good old ABC Stores...
Talk about a Hawaiian icon...My order has now shipped! The slow boat journey from China begins. I am loving the fact that Apple describes this as "Fast Ship". The Apple tracking is suggesting that it will be with me by next Tuesday.
