I have my 15" i7 with high res glossy display and I love it. One of the best purchases I have made in a long time. I was able to get all of my iTunes off of Windows with little to no effort. My Apple TV works great with it. Everything is snappy and responsive. I think my only possible complaint would be that I like the older style metallic keys instead of the black ones however that is a small nit pick.

the total price for my 15" 2.66 core i7 mbp with a 7200rpm 500gb HDD, hi-res glossy screen, 4gb ram was $2,310.70 (just making sure if anyone who ordered it through the U.S. site with the same configurations would have the same price as mine.)

someone please cut off my paranoid mind!!!! lol thanks :apple:

That's a tad low actually... just checked and the store price for that config comes up to $2,349 (before sales tax).

You don't mean actual metal keys right? Because they were always plastic. Did you like the older style because they actually were concave so you could feel them easier? If so, that's why I like the old keys too... however, the new chicklet keys feel stronger for some reason.

6-7 business days?!! I ordered the i5 2.4 hi-res matte 500gb 7200rpm april 14th - estimated delivery May 18th!! WTF APPLE ?!! Then the sales person calls me up after checking up on it, saying that "oh btw. Apple started building my computer with the 5200rpm harddisk, do you wanna continue with this or should we order the one you wanted, which will probably push my order back to june. I waited for this refresh for over 6 months, PATIENTLY. I HAVE NO WORKING COMPUTER ANYMORE, and now my order has been re-ordered as of today because of this glitch...I'll be surprised if this thing shows up before the end of may.

Apple is clearly screwing over their european/scandinavian customers!

On April 20th I ordered my first laptop ever -- the 15" 2.66GHz i7 with the HR display glossy screen and 7200rpm RAM. They still say "Ships: 5 - 7 business days, Delivers: Apr 28 - May 4 but unless they ship tomorrow it won't come by the 28th. It better come by the fourth, however. . . otherwise I don't know how I'll bear it.

Well, I'm on day 7 of my 5-7 day shipping window, and my maxed-out 15" still hasn't shipped yet! :(
After all these months, how much longer is Apple going to make me wait?

I'm kind of really annoyed with Apple. We ordered on April 13th and have an order update of receiving the MBP 17inch i7 on....MAY 7th. That is nearly a freaking month for just upgrading the processor, hard drive, and ram.

Yeah, last Monday I ordered my first Mac, the i7 15" MBP, with just one upgrade - the 7200 RPM HDD. Ordered via PC Mall to save around $300. Sadly, my order was supposed to ship out today for delivery tomorrow (overnight), but won't be here until May 9th at the earliest. Really sucks, since I'll be out of town almost the entire month of May.

I may have my wife overnight the unit to whatever hotel I'm at in whatever city I'm at the day the unit arrives.

Kind of pissed off at Apple here, since the delay is completely on their end. PC Mall orders specific CTO configurations from Apple to stock in their warehouses, and according to my rep Apple hasn't delivered a single CTO MBP to them in two weeks.

WTF gives? I waited 6 months to buy my first Mac, and I'll wait another two weeks, but is this how Apple normally works? Seems like a pretty ****** way to run a business. If you're not ready to release, don't release!

Ships: 5 - 7 business days
Delivers Apr 30 - May 6 by 2-3 Day Shipping

April 30th is this Friday, and I truly DOUBT that apple will send it out directly on the 30th.

But my question is....if they do deliver it on the 30th, it'll probably get held in some fed ex warehouse over the weekend (which is total bull****) and by the time monday comes around, its already the 3rd. so much for 2-3 day shipping and my $18.00 am i right????

Does anyone know if FedEx delivers over the weekend for people who paid for 2-3 day shipping? cause i don't see the point of paying the 2-3 day shipping premium if its gunna stay in a warehouse over the weekend....

Wow apple, 1st mbp purchase and your truly pissing a lot of customers off with this long wait. I paid $2300 for this, i would expect it to be configured and shipped quickly for that premium i paid.

I ordered my 17" i7 2.66 MBP, 8GB ram, 500Gb 7200 HD, Hi Res Anti Glare screen yesterday, and my order status is 'In manufacturing'.

The shop stated 10 business days to get to Australia, so maybe in a couple of weeks with a bit of luck?

My 1st ever mac :)

Where are you seeing that status? Mine (from the link in the email sent) has always said not yet shipped.

random thought....i ordered the Hi-Res Glossy Wide screen display. How will i know it is in fact the Hi-res screen? i've never owned or used a macbook pro enough to "notice" the difference from the older models. will there be a setting i can check when i load up the computer to see the screen resolution? or will there be a list of configs on the box i can read?

Just want to make sure i don't get jipped of my money due to bad luck and me not getting the hi-res screen i asked for...because honestly if they through on a regular glossy screen i 100% know i wouldn't know the difference and i would be playing myself thinking its the hi-res when it really isnt.

just a bit of paranoia creeping in due to the long wait for my macbook pro!

Thanks. :apple:

would i be able to see this in a settings list? where would i go to locate the screen res?

Thanks for the post!

Yup.

System Preferences -> Displays

no problem, watching the flight with my MBP on it, kinda hard to go to sleep...

4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
320GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm

CUSTOM Macbook Pro - 11 days and still waiting

I ordered a custom Macbook Pro with the following on the 23/4/10 to Sydney Australia;

it still hasn't arrived.

# 2.66GHz Intel Core i7

# 8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB

# 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm

# MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display

Disappointed

Yeah, i ordered a macbook pro 15" i5 320GB 4GB Ram on 28.04.
Today it´s here :D :D :D

My first Mac....

We all screwed ourselves

From the sounds of things tons of people have gone for the same CTO build. 15' i7 with high res screen and 7200rpm drive.
Maybe this is why there are the massive delays?

I also ordered mine on the 28th June and Stormfront in the UK tell me that the order status is 'Still Processing' which I assume means that it has not even shipped from China yet!!!

Also going to be a first time mac owner and the wait is just killing me here.
