15" Core i7 w/ 8 Gigs RAM and 1680x1050 anti-glare display.

Ordered April 30th. It's now May 12th (almost 2 weeks).

Any idea how long it will take to get to me? I can't check order details, as it was ordered through someone who ordered it through someone else who ordered it through someone else. I'd drive a lot of people nuts emailing higher-ups asking about it.

I'm kinda excited, as it will be replacing my slow 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro. This thing is just terrible. It runs slower than I'd expect it to (I have a Pentium M @ 2.0 GHz running Windows 7 that performs better), and the case design is horrible (I have bulging metal on the front, another metal seam pinches me, the screen flickers, etc).
Plus, the new system will have higher specs than my loaded Desktop system at home.

Basically, this will be the first laptop for me that may become my primary system.

:apple:

I ordered my 17" i7 2.66 MBP, 8GB ram, 500Gb 7200 HD, Hi Res Anti Glare screen yesterday, and my order status is 'In manufacturing'.

The shop stated 10 business days to get to Australia, so maybe in a couple of weeks with a bit of luck?

My 1st ever mac :)

Well its now 10 working days since I ordered, and its still 'In manufacturing'

Hopefully not too much longer?

Finally!

So my MBP went from being in the 'processing' stage on Monday, to in Transit on Tuesday - and ready for pickup from the store on Wednesday (yesterday).

No idea what is up with that - unless they are putting them on a plane and getting the shipments cleared through customs in a single day from China to the UK. Which I doubt.

Hopefully similar short deliveries will help you out in Aus.

Needless to say, I am very excited.

It turned up yesterday 18 May (ordered 28 April) :)

The status at the online shop still states "In manufacturing".........

Very nice machine. Now all I have to do is learn how to use it!
