Do you think a man can downgrade from retina to high res matte? Is it acceptable? LOL
this Asus is pretty appealing thou! I mean. Same specs but 1.000$ less! And it seems to have better cooling system and audio. And a 1080p panel so it should be good quite as the retina.

While the hi-res is a lower res than the retina, it is also in a larger screen, resulting in a less sharp screen with worse colors than the IPS retina display. However, the matte screen is surrounded by a silver bezel (like the MBA), which is not the prettiet kind of bezel.
As far as the Asus goes, it is nice computer; just know that it has downsides too and you will have to make compromises.
I'm thinking about keeping the retina.
But I'm scared about how slow it'll be in 2 years if it lags with its native OS :S

Keep your fingers crossed that Apple will fix it soon with software updates that carry improved graphic drivers.

Lucky the update came out before Tuesday. I think it's a sign that you should keep your rMBP.
