Or an elephant and a Giraffe, in a tub of butter... while playing KISS songs.

....

I suggest a liquid cooling backpack system. Keeps your G5 ibook cool while your surfing the web.

I won't redesign the iBook G4 but I might modify the G5 chip once I get it. Make in some way run cooler. If that doesn't work I moving to Intel.

so all the engineers at apple tried to do this to release a PowerBook G5 and failed, yet you, somehow will be able to do this by poking at it with a soldering iron and a screwdriver in your garage?

I see...

If you're going to try the impossible, why a G5? Why not stick an Intel chip in that iBook - it'll use less power and be a lot faster than any G5 system.

Plus, the Intel chip will at least physically fit into the iBook, sort of, whereas a heat-sinked G5 is too tall to even wedge into the case anywhere.

I thought the G4 and Core Duo's used about the same amount of power.

I meant as compared to the G5.

Not that it matters. ;)

Edit: You know what? No good can come of this. If the OP ever manages to get G5 working in an iBook, please start a thread about it. Until then... adios.

Never under-estimate the power of insane curiosity combined with sheer will power.
