I received this cover today in the mail. The beige color looks exactly like in the pictures. Shipping was from the Los Angeles area and took 1 day to process and 2 days to get here in Northern California. It is built well with a stiff but slightly padded front and back of leather. The flap is held in place with 3 small button magnets sewn inside. The inside covering that touches the iPad is a gray felt material. Also has a strong chemical smell.

I ordered the same case and received it today. Mine had a slight chemical smell (possibly dye) when I first removed it from the plastic wrap but that dissipated within a few minutes. Either I got lucky or they've cleaned up their act. Hope yours does likewise. I agree that it's a pretty nice case, but I'm not sure that it's really leather. It might be a good quality vinyl. What I like is that it doesn't look like a case for electronics but like an ordinary portfolio of the type that usually holds a notepad. All in all, worth the $29.

I finally received my Cimo soft gel case. it's terrible. the holes don't quite line up with the buttons/ports and it's not very "soft gel" feeling. it feels like cheap rubber. I definitely prefer the hard plastic back I got from newertechnology

I ordered one of those from Handheld Items - advertised on MR - and I think they are the same thing. The cases smell absolutely wretched and do not have enough grip to them to stay on the iPad. The edges keep flopping up. It was cheap, so I am not going to bother to return it, but just wanted to share.

I did also order one of their iPad PadShell and like that. It seems to be the same as the NewerTech shell, but I saw the one from HHI first.

I use the HHI shell and a Zagg shield for now. I'll be slipping it into something else for travel later.

Hi Nova69. Glad you got a case that had the smell go away. Mine is pretty unusable at this point. Aired it outside 2 days, then tried a ziplock bag with baking soda in it to soak up the smell. Still smells strong and horrible. I think it may be the glue that holds the inside felt in place. I wound up giving it to a neighbor with an iPad who can't smell anything due to hayfever. He may change his mind once the hayfever season is over though. :)

All the best.

Couldn't decide between the Apple Case and the Belkin Grip Vue, so I just got both. (Both cases were on display at the Apple Store.) Figured it was smarter to get the cases before Friday, since I don't have a reserve and won't be getting there too early. Not to mention the cases are a hot item in-and-of themselves.

I have 14 days to return either.

Strongly believe I'm going to keep both though.

Sidenote: The Apple Store in Pentagon City (Va) has more Apple Cases btw.

Poorly thought out in design. The hinge to close the case fall right where your hand should go to hold it when you fold the front flap back. Almost every case has this issue. And $72?

that is a beautiful case. i would be all over that if it was sub-$50 and came in black or gray.

Looks like the macally bookstand case with a little more case material.

Let me know if you dont like it and feel like taking a $30 loss on it :D

tired of trying to get cases to the UK so decided to make my own whilst I wait.

icanhasiphone?, Will you post pics and some details on the quality of that case once it arrives? for 20 bucks I might have to get one.

Love the look of this bag.

I know that this is not a 'puter bag, but I really love the way it looks, and the dimensions are just perfect for the iPad:

The front pocket is just right for peripherals, cords, etc.

It's made my Kipling, and is called the Lancelot. It comes in dark blue, black, brown, red. I ordered it yesterday. Even with my iPad enclosed by the Incase convertible book jacket, it will fit perfectly.

I also had a hard time picking between the SF Bags Smartcase and Hard Candy Hard Sleeve and eventually ordered both.

I have got the Hard Candy Hard Sleeve and been loving it so far. You can check out my review of this case at this post - https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/904737/

My SF Bags Smartcase has not yet shipped. Once I receive it, I will decide between these two cases and return one.

Hope I did not add to your dilemma :)

I eliminated the otherer two and now I have the same finalists as you. I would very much appreciate your input once you have received the SF Bags case and had a chance to compare it to the Hard Candy.

Worst product idea ever.

Shows how much of a snob you are or how much you want people to steal your iphone/ipod touch.

Yeah. The only thing missing is an embroidered "Steal an iPhone, get an iPad FREE!" message...

...they should have Gray Powell as their endorser.

In theory, I guess you could use the touchscreen through the case, to play music, etc. But like I said, I'm not sure I'd want to advertise what's in the bag.

New IPAD sleeve found in Singapore

Hi guys,

A friend of mine in India who works for a buying agency just got his hands on these. The design work on this sleeve / case is pretty cool and and sleek. Trying to get my hands on one ready for when I buy a new IPAD in the UK next month. :D

These look cool. Any way to purchase one?

I really like that Kipling bag. I'll be curious to hear what you think when you get it!

Which stylus are you using?

For me I use my ipad for business a lot and use my stylus for note taking/pdf annotation. Its amazing to me that most cases dont have stylus holders. Or even pen holders should you actually require one. This is what I ordered.

Could be better, but suffice for now.

I decided on this case as well.

I googled and found a 20% off code if anyone else is interested.

Ipad Laser engraved sleeve

Apparently, the design and product is for my friends Japanese client. She said she will let me know further details in the next couple of days. Availability, colours etc.

This Ipad sleeve is laser engraved with a typographic design, which details the IPAD's specs and functions. It is a very slim leather sleeve with a high grade acrylic fibre board for protection. The inner is suede. It measures around 10 inches by 8.5 inches with a depth of over half an inch. weighing about 250 grams. I am getting the sleeve for $35. I am trying to get a white or grey one. Really like the Laser engraving. Gives it a nice look.

My Kipling Lancelot bag arrived today. Although not an official computer/netbook bag, it's just perfect! Here are some pictures:

The Ipad fits just right - in the main compartment, even with the bulk of the Incase cover:

The front zipper compartment holds my phone, and all iPad peripherals - camera connection kit, cables, headphones, cleaning cloth, etc. There is also a large zippered pocket on the outside, rear of the bag - for wallet, etc.

The overall dimensions of this bag are so perfect, it's as if it was made for the iPad!
It comes in quite a few colors to choose from.
