These are fantastic! You are all tremendous artists; keep up the good work!

I have always been horrible at art but, on a whim, stopped in at the Disney Animation Studios for one of their quick "classes". In this "class", we drew Woody from Toy Story. I'm going to have to take what I learned there and try it on the iPad. I could actually tell it was Woody that I meant to draw!

My brother and I did that drawing class 5 times or so in a day and it was so cool. We asked for the artists sketch and he signed it and gave it too us. Pretty cool.

(the same sketches sell for $40 in the gift shop.)

Some nice sketches/drawings in this thread!

Here's one I did while waiting at the animal hospital today (cat got into a fight):

Just fingers, don't have a stylus.

Adobe Ideas is great too! My brother is a tattoo artist and loved the way it naturally arcs lines for you.

Yeah from my blue sketch you can see that you can draw hairs much better because of how adobe ideas arcs the lines, another thing I like about adobe ideas is how thin clear every line you make is, but sketchbook pro is far superior in every other thing. I would like to import and export drawings from both.

HOLY JUMPIN, these are incredibly nice. I am getting sketchbook pro tonight so I can try some of this. haha

How much detail can you actually get with your finger?

I want one, but I want to be able to do fine lines if desired, and not just finger paint.

I want to get a stylus ad try one out even though I haven't seen too mny with real points vs, wide tips used on most.

LMAO! I was thinking the exact same thing. I hope the parents of that 8yr old consider getting a digital tablet for some serious high-end work when Grade 9 rolls around. Seriously that is great concept work.

Bzz, you got the best hands down!

When you see art work like this you know the iPad was a smart idea. When you see work like that 8yr old on the previous page; you know schools MUST get this. Kids are the ones that should own the iPad to extend their world and put their imagination on digital ink. When they debut I'll consider this for my daughter. For now I'll purchase the app for her iPod and see what she does with that.
My 14yo bought Sketchbook pro today - finally....

Not that she is a great artists - but she has fun with it so that is all that matters!

We have the lite version on the Touch and she has been using that for awhile...

This is the first one I did. Seemed better than a bowl of fruit at the time.

Does a stylus work well on the iPad? I've never used one before, can anyone recommend a good one?

not from the iPad but done on the iPhone, with Sketches, not Sketchbook. still, it shows what you can do with a single finger.

wow those are pretty amazing for finger drawing on the iPhone!!! Great job!

Freaky bunny drawn with Adobe Ideas (sorry, not Sketchbook Pro - had yet to download at the time) - you can see that I'm playing with different things here, so this is sort of a mish-mash of things going on in one drawing, but it sure was fun to see that the Ipad could do exactly what I'd hoped it could do:

So whats the best drawing app out there? Ive been using Adobe ideas because its free (i've enjoyed it).
sketchbook pro?
ArtStudio?
???

Great work everyone.

I'm loving the iPad. I have sketchbook pro and art studio, however I also have brushes which too is fantastic. All of them are good at different things.

Here's my contribution to this thread.

I just got the Pogo Stylus today (in anticipation of getting my iPad next week) and did this one quick on the iPhone...

It's nothing great, but not bad for a first try on the iPhone...

BTW, it was also done in the Brushes app... I'll get Sketchbook Pro when I get the iPad :)

Great pic. Love it.

Care to share quick thoughts about which programs do what better? I don't really want to buy all three. I did buy Art Studio, but now you have me wondering what I'm missing from the other two...

MacRumorUser, your work is great of the dog, do you a Flickr or PhotoBucket gallery?

Thankyou for the compliment.

I used an old flickr account to upload that picture. Only because brushes ipad app has an export to flickr option and it was the quickest way of getting the pic from the iPad to here with as little fuss :)

@Fireproof!

Thanks also. Having used all three I have to say I prefer Brushes at the moment. I find it easier to access the ink dropper and brushes. Just slightly more refined than either of the other two. Sketchbook is feature packed but it's a bit fiddly to access everything quickly, too many gestures to remember in order speed up your flow. However of course it's only on revision 1 and it will no doubt be updated and improve. Likewise Art Studio is a great little app, especially considering the price, but it's just not as refined as either of the other two.

Basically my preference is

1) brushes. Much like corel painter
2) sketchbook pro. Close call but I find it slightly less control intuitive.
3) art studio. Fantastic price but it's less refined. However updates could change that.
