Here's my second painting using ArtStudio. I really love how easy it is to use and am really getting into it now!

Correct, I didn't want to post a huge image.

Here is the full sized version

That's very nice. Good job! I'm really looking forward to getting my iPad so I can use Sketchbook Pro. I'm willing to bet that my efforts will prove to be less than spectacular though and nowhere near as good as yours.

silly question after the break:

I know you can export .psd in sketchbook pro, but are you able to export from SP, edit some in CS4 and put it back on the iPad?

It's pretty lame that i can't upload the image on this ipad. I want to show my magic too! :p

I see the Standard edition is $6.99 and the Pro is $5.99. Something ain't right.

Yep its €5.49 for standard & €4.99 for pro here too? I just downloaded the pro before they correct the pricing ;)

Much like how pixel mags 'Digital Arts' ipad magazine had 6 month subscription for €45.49 & 12 month for €21.49 ? I subscribed to the 12 month before they noticed their mistake too :D

I'll play around with layers pro later and post an image :)

Right Layers pro edition.

It has great blender tools that work well. Its layer support are limited to 5 layers but shouldn't be too much of a problem, but still not the best out there. Brush choice is only ok, brushes has better selection, and Sketchbook & Art Studio do better pencil strokes.

Online community gallery is great idea but there are flaws to the implementation of it.

It has very good ink dropper tool which is quick to use on the fly.

The software is buggy and it has crashed on me twice. Account settings for example allow you to upload an avatar, except it doesn't work. Online gallery doesn't allow the uploaded to remove the drawing or painting, so there are many people who have uploaded multiple versions of the same file. Export is great as it let's you email with .psd layer info intact, however it does not allow you to upload the photo to something like flickr which would be more handy than a built in gallery that only people with the app and an iPad can see.

Overall a good App. Better than Art Studio, not as good as Sketchbook or Art Studio. Will upload an image later as I can not do it from the iPad directly due to it's software limitation.

Just saw the new Brushes update is out. Don't have an iPad yet, but it looks like simulated pressure sensitivity and brush smoothing has been added. Very cool!

I love sketchbook pro so far, I am working on a drawing of every NHL team's logos. It looks ALRIGHT so far, but not amazing

Why was I born with no talent?

Why Do you say that? I've seen how you hung. You're gifted ;). Who cares about talent when your dragging that kind of probuscus around with you :D

Why was I born with no talent?

Ditto! But Im not letting such a minor detail stop me ;)
Amazing stuff, folks. Color me VERY impressed.

Question for those who have experience with most or all of these art creation apps - which do you think is best suited for no-talent, drawing-challenged hacks like myself? Most of all, I'd like to have fun being creative, and minimize the frustrations I might encounter as a no-talent hack trying to use a complicated interface, or one that will tend to expose my lack of ability :D

ipad drawings

i have tried them all and i think 'layers' is the best drawing/painting program out there....my 2 cents.
