Loving this combo! I wanted in a way to pay homage to an old Swatch called Sir Swatch, but with a more modern touch. More subdued colours with Cactus and Camellia sport bands, and the watch face by modern artist GeoffMcFetridge

I had to tap a lot on the watch face to get this combo haha. I wish I could save it as my fixed colours for the dial.

Always find this works particularly well when the bands have a similar tone / level of salutation. This works extremely well to my eyes. 😁 I like Plum (gen 1) and Pine Green together.

:)Yesterday I looked online to see if my nearest Apple store had a series 10 in stock and the website showed that they did — I high-tailed it to the store after work and I was able to do a walk-in yesterday and was able to snag a Series 10 GPS 46mm Jet Black Aluminum on drop day. Got super lucky that my nearest Apple Store had it in stock. So far, I'm loving it. Got the Nike Sport Band in Volt splash and I'm obsessed with this color combo. The volt splash I feel like really makes that Jet black pop out. It's aesthetically pleasing my inner graphic designer side 😆 I was eyeing on the Plum sport loop as purple is my favorite color and it would look great with the black, but I opted out of that for now.
This looks good on you :)

Just "downgraded" from Ultra to Series 10. I don't need Ultra anymore, because Series 10 does measuring water temperature. Happy that it's half of weight, thinner and minimalistic just like the fitness/health tracker should look. I'll just have to speculate a bit with the battery during the day.

If you are not sure about the bigger size and you have a small wrist, I think the choice of strap is very important.
I think sport band looks much more better then sport loop on my wrist. There's my previous post of Ultra and post comparing Ultra vs S4.

Here's Aluminium Jet Black 46mm size on my 16cm (6.3 inches) wrist.

Yeah and the battery is 1/2 of the ultra’s. I’ll Pass

Probably :) Ultra drop to 90% battery health after 2 years. I don't go all day long hiking often so battery of Series 10 should be fine for me. Had Series 4 for 4 years and it was "ok". Now at least I can charge it very quickly during the day.

Thank you.

I don't really have a habit of wearing my watch to sleep. Its battery health is at 76% (though I had its battery replaced earlier last year, something is wearing it down very fast), but otherwise, it's still in pretty good condition. Maybe I will consider that.

The tiny pod looks intriguing but it's not out for sale yet, how it works looks suspect, and I would rather wait for teardown and reviews first.
Understandable. Or if you want keep it as a backup Apple Watch in case your main S10 needs to be repaired at an Apple Store, even some Apple Watch Ultra users keep a spare Apple Watch for these situations.

You may need to pause your rings for a few days (from the main Apple Watch ) before you give the broken Watch to Apple to fix it; as you can still Track activity on your old Apple Watch Series 5 but since it does not have watchOS 11, you cannot pause rings from there.

I would recommend testing a night out with sleeping with the Apple Watch Series 5 and sleep tracking with it. If it dies during the night or after you wake up I would not recommend it. Take the Watch to Apple to trade it in.

What size is your wrist?

I'm not sure the exact size in cm that my wrist is. But, I can fit into a S/M apple band and a M/L.

I don't have very large wrists or very small wrists, so I want to say my wrists are like an in-between of small/medium haha. I was a percussionist for 7 years in school, and performed for 4 years in competitive indoor drumline and marching arts as a marimba performer, on top of being Deaf, I use American Sign Language to communicate and also being a photographer lugging a 5-8lb camera with heavy lens. so the muscles in my hands/wrists are a little 'muscle-y' but not that 'muscle-y' 🤣.

I always found the M/L to be more comfortable on my wrists and the M/L bands seem to just sit better on my wrists than the S/M for whatever reason. With the solo loops, I'm a size 5-6 if that helps!

I always liked the bigger watches. I have went with a smaller watch size in the past and I just did not like it. I get the bigger watches mainly because of the battery lasting longer than the smaller ones, and the better haptic system for when I get notifications coming through. Plus, I liked having the bigger screen. Not that there's anything wrong with my eyes, but I appreciate having the bigger screen to read texts and see what Siri is saying.

Thanks for the follow up! I am on the fence as to what size I will be getting. I have to get to the Apple Store to try on both sizes. I figure I’ll go in the next few weeks.

I wish I had the skills to play an instrument. When I was in grammar school, I played violin and then drums. I was horrible at both, but I gave it a shot! Lol

I imagine that signing would be great for dexterity 😊

Wanted this combo but didn't have stock of the band so went with navy ocean band. Anyone know if you can swap just the band within 14 days if this was to come back into stock?
Yes you absolutely can. I was just at Apple Store on Friday and bought my Natural Titanium with my band of choice and I was told I have 14 days to swap the band if I wanted to.

Happy to help!

That's what I did when I went to the store on drop day. I was a little worried that the 46mm watch would be too big. I thought that my 45mm was a good size for me. But I saw the 42mm Series 10 and I, again, did not like the size for me personally haha. I tried both on and I still leaned towards the bigger screen. The 46mm is big, but the minute I tried it on, It's actually a perfect size for me! It was my 'goldilocks' moment haha.

I also really appreciate the fact that the series 10 is thinner than the previous generations. Whenever I'm working out, signing, or even working on the computer or photographing — when I have to bend my hand back a little, the top/back of my hand accidentally will come in contact with the wheel and push the wheel on the watch and activate siri or one of my apps will pop up on the screen and it would drive me nuts because the watch was thick. I have changed the orientation of the watch, but it was a continuous issue. But the series 10, I have noticed that it's so much more comfortable on my wrist than the other watches that I've had in the past, and so much more lighter.

I miss playing on my marimba. I still have my marimba at my parents house. But, I live in an apartment and I would play on my marimba but I don't think my neighbors would appreciate the noise. 🤣

Signing is fantastic to help with finger dexterity. It also helps with arthritis. My father is starting to get arthritis in his hands, and he has noticed when he does the alphabet in sign language, he's less sore. :)

Bro when you try on Solo Loop with Apple Watch series 10, at the Apple Store they have a paper measuring device that the Specialist puts around your wrist and it determines what size you are going to wear. Btw if you get the Apple Watch Ultra 2, solo loops may fit looser as the thicker case pushes it up more so subtract one size down.

I am a size 3 and I tried on the braided Solo Loop which fits just fine. Here’s a pic before the Apple Watches got replaced with the S10s. They only had lots of 45/46mm solo loops and I use a 40mm so excuse the extra lug width.

Got it on Friday and meant to share this sooner, but the AW10 in Jet Black Aluminum looks stellar! I didn’t think an extra few mm would make a massive difference from the AW6 I had been using, but add it with double-tap, the new sensors, fast-charging, and just a quicker experience make this a pretty nice upgrade 🤩

Can anyone posit a side-by-side comparison image of an old 44mm with the new 42mm? Still cannot figure out if I should size up or down. :(
Tried my best here lol. New 42mm in the 3rd photo and on the right in the side by side
