yeah I would of done the same, was it worth it? is it as slow as people say it is?

The delay is noticeable but I think that's from being a daily iPhone user where you expect things to be snappy. It's not a hinderance by far. It's Mach 1. I am very pleased with it this far and it's only been a day. I'm still learning, but audible alerts from my phone have turned into a haptic sensation and just a glance or quick reply from my wrist is amazing. Taking calls on it is pretty sweet too.

The only drawback I've noticed this far is some of the complications...I would have thought some of the things like frequent places would be something you could have as a watch face complication or why if you have a custom background, you can't have any complications present, just the time. Alas, those are merely cosmetic.

I've already begun parading Amazon for some third party bands and protection.

All in all, glad to be a part of generation one at a low price point. If Mach II does arrive this year, or whenever it does, I'll be educated on the basics and ready to get the stainless steel version.

Thanks for having me on the forum. In my humble opinion this is the best bracelet option out there by far, and I tried most. This bracelet is about as close as you can get to an actual bracelet like I am used to from the many many traditional watches I have owned over the years.

Thanks for looking -

I have these also but NEVER wear them. Just not a rubber or mesh fan -

Honestly i think it looks terrible because of the adaptors. They stick out way too far and cause a weird angle rather than a curve to the next link. Show me a traditional watch where that happens?

For that particular third party watch band to work, you'd need the 38mm. Then it probably, ironically, wouldn't be big enough to fit your wrist.

(This isn't a "you should have got a smaller watch" post, btw. Just a "I can't believe people get away with selling this stuff without being called out on it" post)

image.jpeg My new space gray aluminium 42mm Apple Watch with the nylon band. Not sure if I'm going to keep it just yet, gonna try it out for a couple weeks and decide.

I partially agree with you. I have owned hundreds of actual watches and all of them with bracelets. Yes the taper on this bracelet option from the "lug" to the first link is to much, BUT that being said this IS the best first generation option we have found, and I have bought/tried about 10 of them. This bracelet is considerably better made then others I tried.

Sure I could get adapters and just use an existing bracelet I have, but this one at least seemed to be integrated.

AGain, for a first generation bracelet option this is best I have personally found. Of course I am always looking for new options :)

Obviously someone decided to machine the adaptors that way to shoehorn a generic watch bracelet into it.

But I just don't get why it's so big. It could have been made without the solid steel chunk between the watch and the bracelet without any issues; think of any of the regular springbar adaptors but with wider arms to accommodate the narrower first link from this type of bracelet.

I stopped buying link bracelets after my first gen hoco. Not that it wasn't nice, but I personally prefer the ML. I haven't worn the hoco link since I got the ML.

My watch collection... Apparently I've started one of those lol.

New third-party 38mm leather loop. I wanted something softer than the Milanese, but with infinite adjustment. I waited this long to buy one thinking that Apple would finally make them available in the smaller size, but when they didn't show up last week, I ordered this one.

It is very, very hard to see that the short end of the band is ever so slightly (as in 1/4 mm or less) wider than the watch case; certainly, the fit is far better than most third-party leather loops I've seen on this forum, most of which were too narrow by 1 mm or more per side.

(I know I'm very pale. I burn before I tan, alas. It's been a problem all my life).

i try other watch faces but always come back to this one as it's easily my favorite set up. I just change the color based on attire.

My nearby Apple Stores do not have any nylon bands for sale or even try-on. o_O Are you kidding me?

The store a state over has all the nylon staps and the storm gray and white leather loops. Go figure.

I was trying to decide between the black, the royal blue or the pearl. Looks like it's going to be a dice roll.

Love that strap, where did you get it?

It's a Kartice band from Amazon. They run about $30, and are spot on clones of the Hermes bands, but with a lot more options. I've had it mistaken as the Hermes cuff several times now. I also ordered a double tour and a single tour, and I was fairly impressed with both - but the cuff is comfortable and really looks great. I've had it about a week and a half, and it's really breaking in well. Also worth noting, the center band can be removed to act as a single tour/standard band.

I use that one plus a few complications. I have the Carrot Weather complication (using C, not F) in the same place you've got your weather. I, too, change the color to match clothing. I have a pink shirt on today, so the second hand and date are pink.

It's the right balance, it seems, between utility and aesthetics. I'd use Chronometer more if there was an option to hide the always-at-zero hand.

I use Accuweather as I have really enjoyed their widgets and app on the iPhone and they help with the crazy unpredictable weather in Dallas.

Cheers watch buddy!

Awesome, thanks for the info and link! I'll be grabbing one of those.

Took another picture to show the similar look. I couldn't get the numbers (0-60) to show up without the 12-hour callouts (I don't know their technical term) coming up also, and I prefer not to have them.

Carrot doesn't seem to have a snarky comment this morning, though I've seen "Wow clouds!" come up on days like today in the past.
