Is the camellia more red or pink in real life?

It's the first red sport band from Apple I would call subtle. There is pink in it, but the color also looks kinda "burnt". It's hard to describe/compare, actually, but very beautiful (IMO). Personally, I would rather call it "red" (maybe "raspberry red") than "pink"

Matching shirts is fun.

Cool shaman love. :)

Got artsy-fartsy last night with my new Black SS 42mm I picked up last week (Black SS with Sports band) at a place called Micro Center outside Philly, insane price of $204. Yeah it's a 1st Gen, not sure if they messed up the price or got one heck of a deal :)

I agree, nice watch AND photos!

So, just over a year ago I bought a Saddle Brown Classic Buckle band for my Apple Watch (proof!), because I got tired of the White Sports Band I had at the time. Then suddenly, this week I realized I got tired of the Saddle Brown Classic Buckle band, so I decided to get the black one! One difference with last year is that I switched from the Apple Watch Sport to the stainless steel Apple Watch! Got it just a few months back (link!).

I thought it would be a great time to get a new band. No sport bands and definitely not anything more expensive than the leather bands. I'm not particularly a huge fan of the Modern Buckle, so Classic Buckle it was! As for the color I had some doubts: black or midnight blue? Because I did really like that last one. Completely different color, but still dark. I finally went for the black one, because it seems to complement the watch itself just a bit more.

Anyway, the pictures:

By the way, 'upgrading' from the Apple Watch Sport to the Apple Watch SS was definitely the best thing to do. It makes those classic buckles bands complement the watch even more, but it also looks just much more luxurious. And believe me, while I'm not a guy who cares that much about fashion, I do like being 'presentable'. And this Apple Watch, along with the band (both the Saddle Brown and Black Classic Buckle) helps a lot with that. :)

And honestly, I haven't been having doubts on not getting the Series 2 model. While the spec upgrade is definitely welcome, I'm not really a power user. My current one has served me very well so far, and I don't expect any change on that. Hope the first generation Apple Watch will keep getting software updates for at least one other round.

Was there any particular reason you didn't buy the current black classic buckles? There are four generations of them now and yours looks like the first gen strap

I was just about to ask if this wasn't an older gen?

To be honest with you, I had no idea what generation this exactly was. I just got them at a local Apple Premium Reseller. I did notice though that the clasp is different from the current one (at least, the one at Apple Online Store). But I think I like mine better than the new one anyway. :)

But I guess it's just that the Premium Reseller simply still had the old ones. Same thing with my Saddle Brown Classic Buckle. In fact, I remember someone telling me that it was not the newest one either, based on the stitching. Just can't seem to find that comment now, and I am pretty sure it was here on MacRumors. :p

Been wanting to purchase this watch since it's debut but figured Series 2 would have the best benefit.

Apple Watch Nike + edition Black on Black.

I wanted to remark on my purchase exerpience at the Toronto Eaton Centre last week Friday.

Originally I attempted to use the browser on my work computer yet figured I may as well use my iPhone 6S and the Apple Store app to complete an online purchase with in-store pickup and setup. The problem was the time was already 8:15PM and the store closes at 9:30, roughly 10mins walk away using the P.A.T.H. underground.

I received the notification that my Nike + was available for pickup (8:27) yet was still working on a computer re-image and needed a few more minutes to complete. I was out the door by 9:10, arriving at the Apple Eaton Centre for 9:20PM EST. and to my automatic adjustment had not realized something until roughly 7mins into my shopping experience.

Some background:
I was fortunate enough to goto an advance forward thinking grade school in North York over 30yrs ago and had the great experience going to school with multiple cultures. Even learned from and had fun hanging out with a student that chose for 1 year to not follow his parents direction and goto a "normal" School to be accepted as a normal kid (he was born blind). Over the last 14yrs in various stages of I.T. I've always prided myself on customer service skills, and greatly appreciated one who practices them when I make my purchases or call in for support whenever needed.

I approached a gentleman front and centre table of the store, waiting to assist anyone whom approached. I said 'Hello I'm here to pickup my Apple Watch". The gentleman smiled raised a slight index finger and turned around a MacBook Air that was in front of him on the table with TextEdit already opened. I read "Hello, Do you have a question?" I replied, touch typing instinctively repeating what I had said. His reply in text "Excellent choice, I'll need to see proof of identity (Drivers license for example) and hopefully a receipt of your purchase please". I unlocked my iPhone and presented it to the gentleman whom proceeded to scan the bar code within my email receipt, with some difficulty. I noticed, he attempted to engage Control Center yet the glass screen protector was posing a slight delay (something I've experienced daily as well). He attempted to speak softly using his fingers to indicate something that I misunderstood briefly as going to the home screen. He motioned 1 eye closed and I automatically figured out the screen brightness was too low for the scanner to work. Once fixed the conversation continued over text and I can tell you working at a service desk with 200+ users how appreciative I am of someone that can actually touch-type accurately and very efficiently.

Another customer stopped by, and immediately started talking to this Apple employee who was clearly assisting me. This other customer didn't even have eye-contact, and this employee just smoothly said "I'm sorry give me a few moments" whilst lifting his index finger as indication of 'Hang on' This youth customer stated 'okaaaay' and I said "oh I'm sorry he's processing a transaction that he's assisting me with, and this lady behind me is already waiting (smiling" ... "oh" was the motion of this youth whom walked away. This gentleman, the Apple Employee, must've read my lips and winked with a smile knowing what had transpired.

Within a few minutes I had my receipt in hand, the gentleman asked (motioning) if I'd like a bag and I accepted. Shortly after the conversation completed with "Thank you for your patience and coming into the Apple Store today. Unfortunately there is not enough time to go through the setup, however there are very easy instructions within the package. Just a few minutes to follow the walk-though and you should be set. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to stop by as we're open again at 9AM tomorrow. Is there anything I can help you with?" My reply ...

"That's fine as I arrived too late for the setup assistance. I appreciate your help, great customer service and it was my pleasure".

Now ... here is a fine touch ... something many of you may not have had, and I surely have not in shopping for Apple products over the last 10yrs. I received his business card in the bag, and also handed to me.

That is the level of customer service, that increases a regular customer shopping experience that I expect when shopping at Apple. This mirrors to service for under warranty repair and exchanges that Apple has set the bar in the consumer retail industry for electronics. This is what keeps me a loyal customer/user of Apple products (new or used). I'll be paying a slight premium for my son's second Beats headphones at Apple Store tomorrow for his birthday present (Bday was yesterday we stayed home today), and will again purchase a new iPhone in the coming 2 months and another Apple Watch Nike + for my son (42mm).

Apple I hope you recognize this internally.
Oddly enough I hope you take note and work with employees such as Brian Bonitz' service and augment your iPhone/iPad/Mac software to better assist their work.

Cheers

Just sold my first ten and debating on what to replace it with. I like the look of the Space Black SS (which is the only watch that now comes with the black sport band), but I'm concerned about how it will wear. The SS scratches, but can be buffed out. The Silver SS comes with a white sport band, not sure why.

Decisions...decisions...

SG Sport is still available with BSB.

I just got the SB SS with BSB but haven't had it long enough to know how it stands up.

Not really into the sport version. Had it before and it feels to light.

Funny, the Apple sales girl said that most people who buy 42mm SS go with the Space Black. Thing is I almost never see one in the wild. I owned one and yet I think I've seen only one or two others.

What do you guys think of the taupe classic buckle with the 38mm stainless steel? Is it more casual only or do you think it can it be dressed up as much as the black one?

For context: I'm female, generally pretty casual day to day (including a pretty casual work dress code) but do dress up for dinners out, special occasions, etc. (I do have a non-smartwatch that I can wear but if I'm going to buy another leather band I'd like it to be versatile enough that I could dress up the AW if I want to. I currently have a saddle brown leather buckle but I think it's more casual then black when I'm in a dress; also it doesn't match as well when I'm wearing grey.)

Any thoughts on the taupe vs black? Btw I wish they'd kept the same buckle as the 3rd gen classic buckle!

I like the band but not that huge buckle that so many third party straps use.

This is my greatest issue with third party leather bands. The leather sometimes is nicer than what Apple uses on their classic buckle bands. But the third party bands are often too thick and the large buckles make them look out of proportion to the (relatively small) Apple Watch. That's the main reason I keep coming back to Apple's leather bands. It's also why I don't like the new design of the classic buckle clasp.

Just a quick update. I finally got the original Apple Stainless Steel Link bracelet for my 42mm SS S2 - and my god is it perfect.

I've had a early HOCO link (for my old SB SS S0) and two MOKO and a JeTECH (that got shipped back straight away - damn that was terrible)

All of the above doesn't even come remotely close to the original - I got a great deal on a open box, but unused link bracelet and yes: they are way more expensive than the Chinese knock offs but it's worth every single penny! The clasp is miles better (MoKo have tried to copy it, but it feels cheap and rattels a lot) and the system of taking links on and off are just superb. I tested the difference between one more and less the first couple of days and it literally takes seconds - great work inventing that system. All in all, are you on the fence with buying this: go for it. It's a massive upgrade of the watch and looks spectacular in both a formal setting and a casual setting

@Sunnysunnysingh . Can you share 3/4pictures (Not screen shots) of your Apple Watch on your wrist aside from your avatar picture? Also, could you share a picture of your favorite Watch face?

I really would like to see some additional pictures. I look forward to seeing them. This thread is where you share them.
