View attachment 799340 Just picked up the S4 Gold Aluminum 44mm. Wanted the stainless steel, but don’t have enough patience to wait till the end of November, lol. I’m like a kid waiting to open a Christmas present. I also picked up a black band and a white band. Oh, well, with the money I saved getting the aluminum instead of the stainless steel, I can put the difference aside and save it for next year’s stainless gold.

Edit: changed the picture, since I installed the band incorrectly the first time.

You need to reverse the band, the hollowed-out side is the inside. When inside-out, the band doesn't lock properly and may slide off the watch (as you can see starting to happen in your photo).

Yes, I noticed that after I posted the picture and reversed it. Feel kind of dumb. This is my first Apple Watch, and I guess I was so excited I didn’t pay attention.

Don’t be! Everyone’s excited over their new watch! :p

Apple used to ship watches with the bands attached. That changed with series 4, I don't know what they were thinking. How can they expect people who never handled an Apple Watch to get this right 100% the first time they do it?

44mm Stainless Steel with the Apple link bracelet, got the bracelet for £314 via the Apple Corporate Store, sold a couple of bands from my 38mm S0 I’ve had stored away for a couple of years, otherwise I’d never justify the cost lol.

Also wear the midnight blue leather loop I kept from my S3, which looks really nice with the SS.

Post all your photos! I wanna see everyone's watch when it arrives. Anything specific you want photos of just let me know.

*Sidenote, it's not bent. The light makes the top look that way in one of the photos lol.`
Good Apple watch. Nice to wear IT looks good to see the apple watch on the hand.

I don't really get it. Why SO MANY people here buy oversized Apple Watch that looks ridicilous on a wrist? Looks like a tech geek wearing a computer on his wrist. Why do most people here don't care about aesthetics, look, style and proportions?

I wonder why some people have no class to respect the fact that people can do whatever they want ? If they like it, that’s all that matters. Haven’t seen one watch that doesn’t look good for the person wearing it.

Can anyone please tell from what date the apple watchs warranty starts as in iphone it starts from the date of activation.

Also, it‘s well known by now that because of the angle at which most of these „wrist pictures“ are taken, the Watches look much bigger and bulkier than they do IRL.

Unfortunately, people such as the OP are merely here to stir sh*t, and actually do not want, nor deserve justification for something that others appreciate. The OP probalby appreciates only themselves, and are getting off on the furor they're causing. Don't feed the animals.. :)

Supply chain management. Much easier to meet demand if you can save that last step
til the very end. I also think it will encourage people to buy more bands. They’ll figure out how to wear it correctly.

I’ve always wondered how Grovemade bands are, how do you like it?

I actually got it a few days ago. I have their desk system. It’s so nice. Been accumulating lots of their things lately because I really like the quality of their stuff. The band does not disappoint. It’s really nice thick leather and I love the clasp. Thinking of getting a brown one as well.

You might find it interesting to know that the same was said about wristwatches well into the 1920s, because pocket watches were still considered the norm.

Why get so worked up about what others do? Buy the watch you want and don’t worry about other people’s choices. Life is easier that way.

yeah, wristwatches were for a long time considered as a feminine accouterment, second to pocket watches. Took the first world war for men (soldiers) to find value in wrist watches by being able to glance at the time while keeping the hands free. Only when they returned home from the trenches sporting wrist watches, these became acceptable and popular for men too.
Some history on that: http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.140.7785&rep=rep1&type=pdf

long story short: the perception of things changes quickly. The statement regarding smartwatches won't age well.
