Um, sorry to risk kidnapping this thread, b ut anyone else having issues with their AW not charging well with this charger, in the same configuration? The AW will *BING*, and it shows the green circle and the lightning bolt, but occasionally will wake up in the morning with something way less than 50% charge. Disappointing..

Carry on...
I find restarting the watch helps

Do you have a 44mm watch by chance? And is the charger from the 42mm era (S3 and earlier)? I recall that Apple had to subtly redesign this charger when the S4 came out because the puck sat too close to the white base on the original version. As a result, there wasn’t quite enough room for the new 44mm casing to consistently line up and get a good charge. That may be what is happening in your case. I think you can tell which version of the charger you have by looking at the model number. If it’s different from the one Apple currently sells, you have the older one from the 42mm era.

Oh, that could be the issue. Wow... Thanks.

I don‘t think so. I used the older charger without problems with S4 and S5 watches. But you could certainly try another charger to make sure.

EDIT: Actually I always used the charger with the Watch lying down flat. Maybe the „night clock“ position is the problem.

Could be. It could be a clearance issue. It's weird, because the watch will chirp, and show the charging screen, and yet, at some point in the night, just apparently stops charging. I was wondering if the magnet was getting weak, but that doesn't make much sense, and it seems to capture the watch well. I don't have enough room to lay it flat, unfortunately...

Alternatively, try removing the band completely before placing the watch on the charger. It's possible the band is preventing the watch from attaching to the magnet tightly.

I thought that, and make sure that the the watch is rocked forward as far as possible. I could see the 'puck' reclining during the night, and the band then knocking it off the sweet spot to get it charging, but the puck connection seems solid, so far. But on that idea, the watch occasionally will chirp throughout the night occasionally. It's like it starts and stops charging over and over again. I have reached over and made sure that it's centered on the puck, and that the band isn't pushing it off, and it seems totally fine, and have had to just take it off the thing to get some sleep. Thank Ford, that doesn't happen very often, but it's been really annoying. One night, it started chirping, I 'adjusted' it, and then it started doing it again later in the morning.

Ah ok nice! I prefer Gen1 as it is a deeper black. Just my opinion though, if you haven’t tried Gen1 give it a shot and you’ll see how “faded” the Gen2 actually is. Also pairs wonderfully with SBSS

Thanks for the heads up, will do if I find one for a reasonable price.

Trying to understand how that would be “free” lol

You‘re on the right path with the LOL.

The sport bands in the Hermès and Edition boxes are only „free“ as in Apple giving you „for free“ another reason to convince yourself that those expensive Watches are somehow worth their price.

Full disclosure: I’m wearing an Hermès S6 right now so I‘m obviously quite gullible. Although I was swayed more by the Hermès watch faces, which cost Apple even less than the „free“ Sport Band.

They’re easy to find at a good price all over eBay. To know if you’re getting a Gen1 you just have to make sure it’s the 42mm version vs 44mm
Yeah I know, not always that easy to verify though and most people aren‘t such nerds like we are, so it‘s tough sometimes to get the answer you are looking for if something isn‘t clear in the advert ;-)

I had no idea they did this. The stand that came with my S2 Ceramic is A1714 and the newer one that I bought NIB on OfferUp (box has Apple Park address) is model A2086.
