I was excited until I saw that it uses IAP to unlock the full game. Just like Super Mario Run, this means that Family Share is not supported. So instead of $60, it is $360 for me (or $30/$180 if I do it during the introductory sale). Thanks but no thanks.

Exactly my thoughts. I am all OK for paying premium prices to get premium games instead of the usual stuff we get on iOS. But then I expect to be treated as a premium customers ... which involves supporting family sharing.

The first 60 turns of the game can be played for free, but after that, players must purchase the full game for $60, which is likely to be a surprise to many who have come to expect iOS games to cost less than their PC counterparts.
Well because unlike mobile games, PC games offer a heck of a lot more be it from content, updates, controls, multiplayer, you name it

Aspyr and Feral Interactive are the only reasons I buy apps from the Mac App store. They do great work and they're two of a very small number of game developers and publishers that I actually want to support.

I would add the team behind Dead Effect, as they are a tiny tiny team and Dea Effect 2 is one impressive feat, and I would add the devs behind Iron Marines as that’s a cool game.

iPad mini support????

The description gives a very limited number of models that are supported. However, the App Store provides a much bigger list of supported devices, including my iPad mini 2. I downloaded it, and it appears to run. I only had a chance to play through a few turns (still at work here), and it seemed to run OK, but I have no idea how it will run in the later game. It also does give you a brief notification when you're starting a new game that "your device is not supported," but that didn't stop me from running it. I'll obviously really try to put it through its paces before spending any money on it, though.

Hardware power in an iPad Mini 4 is basically the same as an iPad Air 2. So it should run fine on that. An older iPad Mini would likely have issues at some point if the devs’ recommended models are truly important. I have to assume it’s the amount of RAM that they’re basing the recommendations on.

It notify you that the mini 2 is not supported ?

Very cool. A full desktop version for iPad. Will it be buggy and lag behind in updates etc? Of course. Still very cool.

Tried civ6 for a few mins via iPad Pro 10.5

Looks fun since p.c/MacBook Civ.

Think I’ll have some short term fun with initial free turns -wasn’t expecting to be selected Chinese leader.
Maybe the race choices are limited.

Come on man! First of all, it's a very complete and expensive game. It's 60 on other platforms. Also, it's on sale for 50% off for the rest of the year.
It’s a 16 MONTH OLD game!!!!! If it was civ VII I could justify the price

Side note: does this game support offline play?

I downloaded it, seems to run fine, but I would have rather had them render text/UI at full res and just scale back the 3D graphics if they had to. The blurry looking text is a bit annoying.

I think everyone gets the same trial leader.

If anyone is looking for a good civilization game for their phone, I recommend checking out Through the Ages from CGE. Also runs great on the iPad, and it is just $10. It's a great streamlined civ-game.

Good game but hardly ever support apps which require you to purchase within the app in order to unlock it.
