I know the feeling 🤓 all of my tech got upgraded this year except for my iPhone - it's been an expensive year 😂.

Gosh am I ever happy though - everything just works SO incredibly well together!🤩

I wasn’t going to upgrade my phone either since I have a 13 pro max but snuck it in by “giving” my wife my current phone ;)

She lives on hers all day for work so she’ll appreciate the nice battery boost on mine from her old 12

So rather then making another new thread about this, I'll ask in here. Im having a random issue with my screen just dimming to the lowest setting and then my keyboard backlight turning onto max. Just happened a couple times today, if this some sort of software glitch?

Never happened to me, sounds like a software bug. Do you have any app/extension that could interfere with that?
Two apps I have that could interfere with brightness are MonitorControl & Stats, no issues.

EDIT: Maybe something is blocking the light sensor? Screen turns to the minimum brightness but not full black as if you did it manually with the keys. Seems like the sensor is detecting something unexpected. You should have auto brightness on to begin with.

Also, related to the sensor thing: in my case when I work at desk I have a monitor light, so the light goes straight to the macbook sensor, and it thinks I'm in very bright daylight. So I manually lower a bit the brightness. Then if during the day I move to another place, everything dims as if I moved to a dark room, as expected.
Maybe you have a similar setup?

only thing I can think of is it got blocked when I moved it, but I dont exactly pick it up by its lid lol. Not sure, hasn't done it for the rest of the day, just very odd.

My screen auto dimmed as well - not sure about the keyboard though, I didn’t notice. I’ve turned auto brightness off for a bit (likely a month or so) then switched it back on. I think I also ran an update before I switched it back on. I haven’t noticed it doing it recently, it’s probably been about a month or so since it’s I had turned the auto brightness back on

I considered silver m2. I really like the silver on my 14 but I like the black background keyboard on the 14. On the m2 air, the keyboard looks so boring. Reminds me of really old silver macbooks I’ve had. I took midnight this time as my MacBook Air m2. It’s really a nice color. And different from past mac. I remember when the black MacBook plastic out and those were bad ass. But you had to pay extra. At least with this m2 midnight it cost the same.

I honestly love the silver on black look, but ive never owned a MacBook before so the look for me feels new. It also pairs perfectly with my black key magic keyboard I just got for it with the magic mouse

Overall, I'm very much loving my m2 air now that im done nit picking every detail and just enjoying it as a daily driver. Wouldn't trade this for any if the pro models, its just so nice to relax on the couch and type away on.

I have an Silver M1 owning since February of 2021,

It is still in excellent condition, the color with no scratches or dents (no color fade away)

Tips in keeping it pristine:

Do's
1. Use a sleeve; any type of cover works
2. Use a screen protector; This helps with anxiety so that you don't worry about screen scratches
3. Use a microfiber clothe; rub off dust/dirt/ grime
Don't
4. Don't use your computer near any liquids; accidents are bound to happen so its best to prevent them
5. Don't place your computer near objects that could impact your Mac (ex A standing fan that could tip over and smash your Mac, A desk lamp that is unstable etc)
6. Don't use Wet Wipes to clean your Mac, any liquids again could harm your computer stay away from them

Always clean your Mac, I clean mine ever so often and to this day its in pristine condition.

Stay Apple Happy :apple:
