I can't decide on which colour iphone x to get, I love the silver but I am afraid of scrathes, I like the space grey I'm afraid of the coating that is on the band will show scratches even worse lol, for all of you who got the silver do you regret it or finds that it scratches really easy?

I went with Silver as I am OCD about print smudges. The Silver shows them less. Having said that, I ended up slapping a matte white dbrand skin on the back so really the only difference between them, if you're put something like a dbrand on, is the side color.

I went with the silver, because it is an anversary year iPhone and I wanted the retro look. Hope that helps, also the scratches will give it character.

If you use an Apple case it doesn’t matter, covers up all the trim.
Apple case still shows the bottom.

I went with space grey I’ve had mine over 2 months now. I have it in an Apple leather case and no scratches at all. Does show a few finger prints but a soft micro cloth will take those right away.

Space Grey no question. Less scratches, more smudges, but less noticeable in the light. The back of the X in Space Grey really shines against the camera and Stainless Steel border.

Apple case still shows the bottom.

It's in a spot where other people don't see it and the two shades of steel are very close to each other in bright lighting conditions. Point is, I don't think anyone who uses an Apple case needs to stress about the color of the iPhone.

Buy either model and keep it sealed in the box. No scratches.

Resign yourself to the fact that the phone is an electronic tool that will get some scratches.

The advantages to the silver iPhone X with the surgical stainless bands, if they scratch, they can be removed with a polishing cloth and Almost restored back to factory condition.

But the space gray stainless bands on the space gray iPhone X, you cannot use a polishing cloth on those bands, but with the physical vapor deposition coating, they don’t scratch as easy as the surgical stainless bands do on the iPhone X.

Given that scratching is equal, black hides the hideous camera bump better.

I
If it were up to me, I'd choose the Silver. Why? Reminds me of the finish of the 1st Gen
ended up getting the silver why? Same reason as u lol and also cause it looks fresh and clean.

I don't have one but if I did it would be silver. White iPhones are best.;)
I agree the last 3 iphones ive had have been white it has a cleaner look to it .

i like the chrome band.
however, i like the darker space grey backing over the white back.

I went with silver because id rather have a scratched bezel than a peeling PVD coating.

The PVD coating peeling seems extremely rare, I have only read two threads started on this, but you have to factor in the millions of those iPhone model sold that likely will never experience peeling. Is it possible, yes. But it’s not something I would worry about and I know Apple would replace my device knowingly if it was a defect, being they stand behind their Product.

Go to any Apple store and look at the bottom of their space grey iPhones. That type of wear is so ugly to me

You cannot equate an Apple store display unit to an actual customer owned unit. They're manhandled by several people daily. People who will intentionally try to ruin or scratch it to test it's durability. A lot of times as a result of what they've read on the internet.
