Silver vs Gold

I'm almost starting to feel like this is an argument between new color vs looking better, something about the white iPhone has always been so appealing. But I wonder about the gold...
 
leaning towards silver after originally wanting the gold. just going to wait til friday and decide. chances are they will have sold out by the time I get there, so ill have even more time to decide!
 
If you live by an Apple store do this:
Go down to your Apple store on the 20th. Don't stand in line with the other geeks. Walk right in like you have other business. Look at the iphones on display. If you like the gold, step outside an use the Apple App to order your new beautiful gold iPhone! If you don't live by an Apple store, just order the gold and gawk at it for 14 days. If you don't like it by then, return it and exchange it for the silver. They should have some in stock by then.
BTW, champagne gold (as the color has been called) is not a dark gold. It's a light gold.
 
I have decided on gold for a couple reasons

1. I like the way it looks
2. It will be sort of unique in the iPhone world
3. I have black and slate 5 and I have decided I like the white front better, but my wife has a white and silver 5 so gold will help keep them sorted.

I am actually going to have to be in the apple store on the 20th, however, i think im going to order silver based on the pictures i've seen of the Gold one, however, if i do really like it, i can always cancel and re-order the gold. If the pictures are close to the color, then I'll probably be glad I went with silver, I actually looked back to the leaked pictures of the shell, its the same story, it does look a bit darker in some angles, such as this one:

Well it seems like you know you already like silver. Why not go with that?

I say figure it out when you see it in person. That's what I'm going to do. I'm leaning towards gold, but I'm going to make it a gametime decision for when I actually see it in store. If you have some reservations after seeing the gold in person, then just go with silver. Any reservations in stores means you'll more than likely have regrets later.

You can also wait until later in the day of release when a bunch of unboxing videos come out. That way you can get a better idea before going into the store.

Lastly, if you're concerned about how it looks, why not looking at how you'll customize it? I'm upgrading from the 4S, so I'll need a new case and new lock/home wallpapers. The gold really stands out to me, so I really like the possibilities of gold + other colors.
 
def gold...itll match my gold chain, ring, and watch! :p

but for real, Ive had a white iphone and black iphone. Time to change it up!
 
I'm trying to make the same decision. I like the look of the gold but what concerns me is that i've never had the white iPhone, and with travelling between university, home and work in-between, i'm worried that the white of the phone may get/show up the dirt more easy than the black iPhone (Which i've had in the past) :confused: one things for sure, i definitely want to get an iPhone 5S :D
 
Gold for me. White with gold bits reminds me of my '76 Les Paul Custom. I hope no-one else buys gold so there's plenty of stock for me on launch day. So you should get the silver :)
 
really surprised there isn't a gold/black option.

not sure why I posted this, but I just thought it and my fingers were on the keyboard so deal with it.
 
I dislike gold......all a bit chav.....

However...

The gold iPhone does call out to me. It's a subtle gold. So if I was to buy (still undecided between the iPhone 5s or note 3) then gold it would be

Not necessarily. Lighting, white balance, image sensor and other factors (including the display that the image is being viewed on) affect the image as you've noticed.

Every time I see a pic like this I drool a little. This angle makes that color look amazing! Then again, I've always been a fan a mustard yellow, morning urine, golden shower if you will.

Lets all hope that Apple has enough 5S units that you have the luxury to make your choice. More choices than ever to make as you got three colors with three memory configs AND different carriers. It would take alot of stock to keep everyone happy.
