Does anyone here have any experience pre-ordering an iPhone with an international credit card? I'm from argentina but im going to be in the states on the first week of october, but i'm concerned with having problems buying an iPhone from the online store. Has anyone tried this in the last couple of years?

So can we confirm that on launch we can buy the T-Mobile version outright from Apple and pop in a Verizon SIM card and it will work fine correct?

It's been that way since the 5s. Any iPhone bought full price from Apple will be unlocked, only the sprint one is in doubt.

Awesome, that's what I thought but there are so many conflicting answers lol. For various reasons, I want to put my iPhone 6S on Verizon, but I can't do it at launch, so I want to buy a T-Mobile version full retail and intend on tossing the SIM card in when I can put it on VZW.
What's stopping you from buying the Verizon one?

Its still so much conflicting information. I plan to buy an 6S Plus outright on preorder day and I don't have a unlimited plan or anything and could care less if its unlocked.

I have a feeling I'm going to run into a snag when trying to order for full price day of the preorder. Where you able to buy them full retail last year during preorder?

I am doing it on the App Store app. I have heard good success stories on quick ordering especially when using Apple Pay.

Cool I am just going to go for the AT&T version full price and call it a day.

Does anyone know if you'll be able to order a full-price phone (for AT&T in my case) from Apple without putting in wireless account details?

Hi, I made a thread here (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-6s-model-a1633-vs-a1688-for-international-use.1913714/), but I see that the topic has been briefly discussed on the previous page on this thread. But since it hasn't been mentioned, is "CDMA EV-DO Rev. A" needed for oversea use?

I don't think so and I think it is really only for Verizon and some CDMA carriers in the U.S. But even then how come A1688 dropped CDMA EV-DO Rev. B, which was supported in SIM-Free/Sprint iphone 6 (A1586)? And it's for 3G, so is it even needed for Verizon and co. since most of the stuff is LTE anyway?

This tells me that this CDMA EV-DO Rev. A feature is not that important, both domestically and internationally and one can use A1633 pretty much anywhere in the US and internationally. Let me know if I am wrong.

Don't need too when you select "Pay in Full" under AT&T does not ask for info.

So att/T-Mobile version has band 30 but no cdma while Verizon has cdma but no band 30?

So att/T-Mobile version has band 30 but no cdma while Verizon has cdma but no band 30?

That does appear to be the main difference.

Basically:
If you live in rural America: get the Verizon/Sprint version for the 2G CDMA support
Everywhere else: Get the AT&T/T-Mo version for the super fast band 30. All Verizon/Sprint LTE bands are supported

So I could buy the T-Mobile version full price and put a Verizon SIM in it if I want to??

I contacted Apple , they couldn't confirm t-mo model number. I twitted t-mo about the model number , "..stay tuned.." was the answer. There is no official confirmation what model t-mobile will be.

We can understand now that : Att-1633, VZW-1634, Sprint-1634, t-mo-? With there new "guarantee" program I have more questions. Assume I go with Jump-on-Demand. They give me 1633, I don't like the network. How can I go with VZW and Sprint? They give me 1634, I can use VZW, Sprint and partial Att.

I want 1633 unlocked one. I'm going to order 1.subsidy from Att and try to unlock it with 3d party ,2. Att full price from Apple (also don't know if it is unlocked, but know it is 1633), 3. T-mobile(know that it is unlocked , but not sure on model number). And... then return 2 of them I don't need. I have multiple line, so I improve Apple sales statistic :)

Feels like they made it more confusing than before. Is band 30 deployed yet? I see both models support band 12. Does it do carrier aggregation as well?

This just posted on MacRumors:

T-Mobile customers should notice an improved LTE experience in the United States with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, as Apple has included support for LTE band 12 on the new smartphones. Both GSM and CDMA models of the new iPhones support the 700MHz spectrum.

Model A1633 and Model A1634

LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)

Model A1688 and Model A1687
LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29)

T-Mobile uses the 700MHz spectrum to offer what it calls T-Mobile Extended Range LTE across the U.S., which it says extends the network's LTE signal twice as far from its cellular towers and works four times better in buildings. T-Mobile Extended Range LTE is live in 170 markets and covers more than half of the American population.

So is one of these the CDMA (no band 30) and one the ATT + T-Mobile (with band 30)? Meaning, if you buy the T-Mobile with no contract, it will be the same phone as if you were to buy from ATT?
