Hi, my name’s Josh and I am an addict. My first was the 4 when it came to Verizon. I have owned most every model since then. I actually bought two 13 minis and last year I got a 15 and 15 Pro. This year I am going Pro Max just because I want a phone that won’t end up sliding sideways in jeans pockets. I have problems.

I got my first iPhone as a loaner from Verizon when an update bricked my android phone a day before a trip to Alaska. They unboxed a brand new iPhone 4 and the rest is history. I kept that phone, although my bride still had her android phone. We both got iPhone 6’s. Used for a year and got crazy deals on 7’s from Best Buy. We used the 7’s till we got our 12 Pro Max’s, which were the first iPhones we actually paid for. We used those till 2 days ago when we got new 15 Pro’s.

i loved that first iPhone. I was (and am) deeply imbedded in the Apple ecosystem, and the ability to have music on my phone was the beginning of the downfall of my iPod. i hated my 12 Pro Max. Actually so did my bride. We thought “bigger is better” and that a huge iPhone could replace our iPads. We found out differently. It did take amazing photos though. Upgraded our iPads last year and now our iPhones this year. My favorite iPhone is now the 15 Pro. It fits in my cargo pants and the flap closes. No more do I need the clip that holds it to my belt. The screen is clear, it’s lightweight and takes amazing pictures. The contract is for 3 years although I suspect there will be another “special” about 2 yrs into my 3 yr contract, but until then, I will enjoy the compact new iPhone.

9 iPhones since early 2010: 3GS, 4, 4S, 5s, 6, 6s Plus, 7 Plus, 11 PM, 14 PM (also the favourite one).
So far no regrets here - looking forward to put my hands on a 16 PM next month.

3GS, 4S, 5S, 6, SE1, 12 mini, 13 mini. Regret buy was the 6 (too large, bad grip due to the rounded edges), SE1 was my favorite, best design with its aluminum back, no camera bump, white front, round volume buttons and top power button, delightfully compact and light-weight. Mini has the better screen of course, but is too heavy/clunky compared to the SE1, Touch ID is more automatic for me than Face ID, and I don't really like glass backs.

Best has to be split between the 4 (materials/aesthetics best) and the 12/13 mini (nearly perfect size for me). I love the extra lens on the 15 Pro but hate the size/weight. The only phone I disliked (completely) was the 11.

The 15 Pro will not be replaced until it dies/cannot be updated to the newest iOS version. Unless a quality mini model gets reintroduced…

3G, 4, 5c, 6 plus, SE, 7, 11, 13 mini, 14 pro - it makes 9 but maybe i forgot 1 or 2 between 5c and 11:)

If any regret, probably 6 plus, 1 gig of ram was not enough.

Favourite one - probably 5c - plastic is simply the best material - durable, light, great to hold and oh that blue colour was fantastic

4,5,6,7,8,X, 15 Pro

7 in total .
Got the 8 then, weeks later the X due to FOMO.
Used to skip the S series and go for the redesign year.
Back after a long break and probably will stay.

3G
4
5
6 plus
XS Max

I liked them all, though I recall the lack of video recording as being disappointing on the 3G. The Retina display on the 4 was the big upgrade. The 5 was probably the biggest upgrade for me with 4G, lightning, and camera improvements.

One per year since 2007, so let's see:

iPhone
iPhone 3G
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
iPhone 4S
iPhone 5
iPhone 5S
iPhone 6 Plus
iPhone 6S
iPhone 7 Plus
iPhone X
iPhone XS Max
iPhone 11 Pro
iPhone 12 Pro Max
iPhone 13 Pro Max
iPhone 14 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro Max

so yeah, 17. Most likely will get the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

easy one, a se 2020 (which I'm using today), since the battery life is down to 86 % I will have decide whether to change battery (if that is an option and the 4 g network is maintained) or purchase a new iPhone. i purchased mt first cell phone in either 1998 or 1999 (near the new year) it was an Ericson analogue network phone if I recall correctly (it is in a drawer somewhere) I view a cell phone as a convenience not as a lifestyle choice

Just 3.

iPhone 5s - First one ever for me, the Touch ID made the phone a must buy for me, nothing else in the market had that much security, all the others on the competition were very subpar and buggy with unlocking with the finger.

iPhone 7 - Just bought it because I could get the VAT value returned to me and I always wanted a red phone. It was a beautiful opportunity as I also sold the 5s, which made the phone price very cheap to me.

iPhone 15 - Got it because I thought my 7 was used for far too long.

The one I regret, iPhone 15 and probably any other phone I would replace this one with. Technology for these smartphones are just not interesting for me anymore. It’s always an overpowered processor limited by software or my mind and a better camera.

Sorry for the not hyped reply. I try to stay very realistic :)

I've not had too many iPhones:

3G (2008) - Queued for this one (the first one wasn't released in Norway until late, so I waited for the second one).

4S (2011) - This was a solid phone, and - along side the 11 pro - my all time favourite.

6 (2014) - This one I don't really remember, cannot have been very good since I upgraded after just 2 year?

7 plus (2016) - This is my biggest regret. Never became comfortable with the plus size.

11 pro (2019) - First one with a really good camera. Possibly my favourite, ever. Never had issues with battery life.

15 pro (2023) - Not too happy with this one. It's ok, but the camera isn't noticeably better than the 11 pro, in most cases.

Bonus: Me in the iPhone queue in Bergen in 2008 (from some newspaper at the time) to get the 3G:

I’ve gone:
3GS
4
5
6
8 Plus
14

I’ve loved all of them, but my iPhone 5 was probably my favourite. I got some great photos with it, even hung a couple in the college gallery alongside ones taken with my DSLR, when I was studying photography. I still have it here somewhere. The screen is starting to discolour, but it’s still going, as is my 8 Plus!
I’m loving my 14. It feels like a bit like a newer, oversized 5. If only it didn’t have the giant camera bump! It’s still running great, and I don’t see myself replacing it soon.

3G, 4, 4s, 5, 6, 6s, 8 plus, 11, SE 2020, 12 mini, 13 Pro.

My favorite is a tossup between the 5 and 6s, but leaning towards the 6s. The only reason I bought it, after the 6, was because I was traveling somewhere and the 6 didn't have support for the local cell frequencies.

The 4s is my regret buy. Siri couldn't do much, and I figured out pretty quickly that I have little interest in voice assistants. the 8 Plus is a close second; I never got used to the larger size.

5 <-- loved the design, still one of the best looking designs
6
7
11 <-- objectively great, didn't love the size though
13 mini <-- my favorite since the 5
15 Pro <-- got it because at least it got a little slimmer and wanted to try the Pro features

iPhone OG (magical moment when first opening box and powering on - wow wow)
3GS
4S
5S
6 Plus (this is where I learned I hated big phones)
iPhone SE
12 Mini
13 Mini

Hands down favorite phone is the OG SE, perfect proportions as a phone for one hand use and just overall a sleek design. 6 Plus was the least favorite, lasted about one month and I gave it away.

6 - My favorite, used for 6 years
12 mini - Great phone but the durability of the materials aren't great. First iPhone that has visible scratches in the glass and the painted sides are wearing off.

Of actual iPhones that I've used as iPhones, I've only owned two: iPhone 6 and iPhone SE 2nd gen. Before that I had 3 iPod touches: 2nd gen, 4th gen, and then 6th gen. I've collected various other iPhones (and iPod touches) that weren't used as phones since then, including the 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, and 5.

While it was nice having the 6 so I could play Pokemon Go, I really miss the physical device size of the 4" iPod touches.

Never bought a 5c, but I really loved the bright colors they offered. I was tempted.

6 💩 (smashed it out of rage, awful phone)
SE ⭐️ till battery went ⬇️ the 🚽
11 ⭐️ it’s ok
13PM 🌟. Will hold on for long as poss

I've had:

4
5C in green and loved it
7 Plus
X had to return after 3 days due to PWM issues
8 Plus
XR returned after 4 days because I was having eye strain
8 Plus again
11 kept for almost 2 years and tried the iphone 14
14 kept about a week, eye strain wasn't quite as bad but I didn't want to get stuck with a phone that bothered my eyes
SE 2022 that I'm currently using

My favorite has probably been the 8 Plus, it took great pictures, the only issue I had with both of them was that people had trouble hearing me on the phone. If I used earphones they could hear me fine, but without them I sounded muffled.
