Considering this, is Logmein still better than splashtop? If yes, why?

With logmein you don't have to worry about configuring firewalls or remembering the IP addresses. But if you never connect from outside your home then this may never be an issue.

I agree and love Logmein. Very easy program to work with and worth the $30 IMO

AVplayer HD - love that i can just drag and drop the tv shows and movies i download from torrents and that it plays everything without the need to reencode the videos

Air video - when i'm at home i watch a lot of movies on my ipad. With air video i can easily stream them to my ipad in hq without the need to connect my ipad or reencode. Another must buy

Bamboo paper - great for taking quick notes or just for doodling with your finger.

Garage band - no need to explain i think

Order and chaos online - awesome mmo. Very wow like and only $2 a month!

Style.com app - as a fashion junkie i love this app because i can watch hd pics from all the newest fashion shows wherever i am

Unzip - really helps to be able to unzip files u download directly from safari

Hot damn! Just tried it on my friend's iPhone. This app is FRIGGIN' awesome!!

If this app was a little cheaper, I would buy it in a heartbeat. But, 30 bucks is way too much. I mean come on!! Lion OSX is priced at 29.99! And that is a whole OS with a size of 4 GB!!

The LogMeIn folks need to price it more reasonably. They can provide another version which is cheaper and can not be accessed over Internet. That will be just fine for personal use.

I know that ain't gonna happen and that bums me out!!

Another vote for LogMeIn Ignition here...
The app is well worth paying that bit extra. No ongoing costs if you choose to use the free service (which I have found is fine for what I need). I'd tried a host of free VNC clients and other cheap solutions, but this was by far the best. Extremely useful.

Teamviewer works just as well as LogMeIn for basic use at least and is free for personal use - I tested this out to access my work's PC and it was flawless. I would love to see our work go for a solution like this to help me work remotely in emergencies.
