If one is not accessing the desktop over the Internet, is logmein still a lot better than splashtop?

I don't need the file transfer feature of logmein as I already have filebrowser app.

Considering this, is Logmein still better than splashtop? If yes, why?

Are you capable of openin a port and registering with dyndns?

I recently purchased Osmos, Uzu, and Star Walk based on recommendations from here and other websites. ANd I keep going back to Osmos and Star Walk, but not Uzu.

DraftPad

This is the single most useful app I have, even more amazing is it's free and devoid of iAds. I use it 50 times per day, easily.

They just did a rev that includes extra assists and it's now even more amazing. It's essentially a one page document that I use to initiate any writing I do, email, sms, forum posts, you name it.

For example if I think of sometime to email to myself, it's a matter of one click to open it, jot down the note and one click to email it to myself, already pre-addressed. The same goes for SMS to my wife, I can do one in a flash without even going to to SMS app. Just click on draft pad, write the note and click to send.

Each "template" (assist) to do what I've described in just two clicks comes as part of the app. There's about 20 of them for more functions than I can remember. As time goes by they are including more and more of them.

The people that bash this app, failed to take 3.5 minutes to read about assists. They are the backbone of it's incredible usefulness. I would have never guessed and app so simple could be so good.

Check it out...

Logmein folks really need to think about lowering the price. I can purchase lion OS at that same amount!!

Some folks just want access on their local wifi network without file transfer facility. There should be a cheaper variant of the app which does this. Something in the price range of 10 bucks!

For me the best by far and away is Zite. Absolutely the best way to discover news and stories, learns what you like as well.

Real Racing 2 HD
FIFA 11 HD
Fruit Ninja HD
Financial Times
Terra - free, and how Safari SHOULD have been done

Of the apps I've paid for, my best purchase by far was a marine lakes map by Navionics. I highly recommend them to anyone who owns a boat.

Zumocast was my favorite free app, but it seems to be dead now. Anyone know of a good replacement to stream videos and cache/save them on the device?

Not sure if it is exactly what you are after but Buzz Media Player can stream videos from SMB shares over Wifi. You can also copy the files to the iPad to be played 'offline'.

Even thou it is dead, if you have the older version hint hint.. the program still works as it did before the update and "killing off" if you will of the program. Still using this to day!!!

I know this app is free, but wunderlist is seriously growing on me. I might just have a keeper.

You and me both. I have been using this one now for about a month and it is working out great for a couple different projects I have been involved with.

Has to be AVPlayerHD. Gives the iPad the kind of functionality that it should have had out of the box. Plus, as much as I'm normally an aspect ratio whore, the ability to fit to screen minus borders is great - I normally baulk at b0rking the aspect in such a manner, but 99% of the content I view on there is 16:9 and losing so much screen to black borders on a 9.7" screen is a pain otherwise.

Hi All,

Here is my list on no specific order. It's hard to choose just one as I use all of these daily, with the exception of two:

Goodreader: Read, annotate, and store .PDFs. Wirelessly download movies to my iPad in minutes and can delete them when done.

Fluent News: Downloads from different news sources. Once downloaded yu can read them offline.

Terra Browser or Downloads HD: both allow one to save a page for offline viewing. Downloads HD allows one to download video, if not from YouTube.

Dropbox: Not sure how to explain this.

Wunderlist: to do sync to all computers and devices.

1Password: I always change my passwords and this has been a lifesaver.

Log Me In Ignition: I too was hesitant about dropping the money for this and used Teamviewer instead. However, this past month I was running into issues when wanting to connect to more than one computer and Internet connection failure in the end of the remote computer. LMI is the best program and worth the money.

Notes Plus: IMO this is the best nite taking tool. I use it for work and for taking notes when reading non-electronic documents. It voice records and the writing is snappy and legible. I must admit though that it has a learning curve, but if you are willing to practice it will be worth yur while.

PageOnce: Never late on bills with it and can check my account balances.
