I'd like to see some sort of IPTV. I'm not sure if it's doable, but it would be awesome just to pick up television shows on on an airplane with Wi-fi.

I want the Flash player on the iPod Touch soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad!!!!!!!!! It drives me crazy that I can only watch videos on youtube and I can't see pictures on a lot of websites!!!!!!! The next best thing would definitely be the speakers!!!!!! I know it has one because whenever you jailbreak it, you can hear all of the clicking when you type out loud!!!!

Pingtunnel !

if there is a port of pingtunnel scripts to the touch/phone, then you get free access back home and from there to anywhere, from any location with a wifi signal, without even bothering to think about open or closed network...
check it out, it already works on linux, win, and macos...

What the heck is with GPS? the iphone basicly has this with the positioning system, and maps? so, why not get a iphone?

I would LOVE to get an iPhone extept Apple is haggling with the Phone companies where I live, and most likely they will bind it to one I don't use!!!!!! In other words, it is not even on the market yet - unless i could get someone to bring me one from US and then hack it... a possibility of course, but I would rather spend time using it, not hacking it!

I want to see removeable disk drive use enabled! gah, it's so obnoxious that I still carry around my old brick zen to use as external storage when I could just carry everything I need on one device (I don't have a base computer, I'm hoping to get one at graduation, and I travel around to a lot of people's computers in my dorm who don't have iTunes 7.4, so I would like to be able to carry the Installer around with me)

Rent / buy movies from iTunes and listen to Internet Radio. Cut and paste feature would be nice, too.

Has anyone used the touch 4 voip microphone?

I use it, and VNotes, every week for one thing or another. It's a lot easier than writing a note down on the fly.

The microphone inserts right into the docking port. It sticks out only 11/16 inches and is 1 1/64 inches wide.

The program is simple to use. Touch the icon, touch two "buttons" and start talking. Touch again to stop. The message is saved with a date and time but can be renamed to anything you want. It can also be sent to an email address.

Hi-Fi? No. But it does produce recognizable, understandable and undistorted speech.

Highly recommended combination.

Offline News

1. I want and offline news reader. I just got mine ipod touch 2 days ago so maybe I'm missing something. iWebsaver doesn't cut it for me. I'm already sick of emailing myself news and reading it offline with the google.
2. a speaker. I have a small one that goes into the bottom later this week but...
3. Orb.com integration. I can get lots of my video streamed to me but I need my tv streamed live (the whole flash problem). I don't even watch that much tv I just want it.

Other than that I love it. I do know though, if I can't get the offline news thing figured out (workaround) I'm going to Jailbreak this thing. I paid 300 bucks for it and it is mine. Not Apple's. I paid for it. Mine.

WPA-ENTERPRISE COMPATIBILITY

how frustrating when there is badass wifi all around and you cant use it?

i've emailed apple a few times and nobody ever replied or did anything about it.

i think my school has found a way around it though which i should go investigate.

General wireless iTunes syncing when in range of host Mac / Windows machine. This would go someway towards take care of those wanting wireless podcast pick-up.

Video out supported by all apps (or the device in general), not just YouTube and video play-back.

Comprehensive bluetooth support for GPS, car-stereo integration, wireless full-size keyboard - the works!

RSS reader.

AFAIK, all this could be achieved through software.

The next best thing would definitely be the speakers!!!!!! I know it has one because whenever you jailbreak it, you can hear all of the clicking when you type out loud!!!!

That's all that speaker is capable of, even if you did get it to play proper sounds, the quality would be appalling.

A custom-designed app for Pandora internet radio. You put in a song or band name, and it lets you listen to music that is similar to it. I've expanded my little library quite a bit through listening to Pandora :)

pandora.com if anyone's interested.

In the app, you'd be able to store the song name and artist in some sort of built-in list, and when you get home, you could download that song.

Another vote for Flash.

Definately Flash. Why hasn't this been included already? It's annoying that I can't watch most videos on the internet (such as TV shows I'm trying to catch up on). Is it just a ploy to get people to buy them in the iTunes Store?

If you find anything out, pass it along. I'm in the same boat with you (along with TONS of other people). Supposedly the June update is supposed to fix it. *Fingers crossed*

First off, flash sucks and always has on basically every mobile platform. Choppy playback and whatnot. Secondly, most useful flash files on the intenet require some sort of user interaction, something that can't really be done with the current UI. Thirdly, you do realize that 90% of the flash on the internet is advertising, right?

Add on's

I'd like to be able to port my KeyChain over from my MacBook. I hate typing in my passwords and usernames all day long.

I meant for watching videos. TONS of videos are Flash-based, especially online episodes of TV shows (e.g., Grey's Anatomy). I want to watch those on my Touch.

doesnt the itouch have to have a speaker in it for the alarm clock and stuff, someone just needs to make it so music can play over it.

For me it has to be a flash player. I hate only being able to watch youtube on my touch. Also some offline applications for the news and other things. Also some games would be nice where I don't need a wifi connection.
