Siri AI sucks still after all these beta tests and months... I honestly thought all the bugs would be fixed in this latest version. Alas, I went on a walk with just my watch and airpods and asked to shuffle Dolly Parton music (RIP). Siri said she encountered an unexpected error and did not perform the task. I asked again and she replied telling me I'd have to open the Music App first to ask. WTF is Siri if she can't do this herself. Anyway, I opened up the music app and asked and she said she'd play Dolly Parton Essentials playlist, but then errored out again. I went to my artists in my apple music found Dolly and hit shuffle and the music played my songs as expected. Why is it so hard for Siri to understand these simple ass requests?

No you aren't the only one. I've been using it and it feels no different. No better but no worse.
It’s much better than the previous Siri. What are you asking that it doesn’t seem more capable?

I have noticed zero improvement.
I ask it anything and it answers it just fine. So like I asked before, what are you asking that it doesn’t seem more capable?

More capable means it does more than it does before. I ask it the same things I did before, and it gives me the same answer as before. So liked I asked before, the better question is what can we ask it that shows its more capable?
What questions are you asking? I want to ask those questions to see if the responses are appropriate.

I don't remember all the ones I ask lol. But its the normal ones, "turn on the lights", "what time does the game start", etc

Oh okay I remember one it got wrong. "What did my wife send me pictures of" "She sent you 4 pictures". I thought that would be a fancy new question, but it doesn't seem more capable, at least right now.
I asked the following and got perfect answers and It pulled up the information I needed every time. I will try asking different types of questions tomorrow.
“Find conversations I had with Erwin talking about pay”
“Find conversation about stroke credits”
“Find the conversation with Adriana and Karen about someone applying for or getting the position in cath lab”
“Show me text messages I sent Johanna regarding weight loss drugs being covered by insurance”

Oh those are the type of questions I didn't know you could ask, which is why I was asking you what questions to ask to show the extra capability. Thank you for that.
I did some tests my self:
I just tried one "Find conversations about an interview" (I'm looking for a job) and it was okay, but not really what I was looking for. The first answer was some newsletter. One was with a friend, I guess sort of related. One was about an unrelated thing. Finally after scrolling was the one I thought would be the very top, but the second one I wanted was not even shown.
I asked about upcoming PT appointments, and that worked, though I don't know if that is a new capability or not.
I asked to find conversations about going to the Hospital for a procedure, but one was a link for directions but none were actually conversations.
I changed it to ask about going to the hospital, but they showed messages from 2022.
I asked about parking and it did bring up the one I thought.
Not super impressed but I guess a bit more capable. I got say though, the interface that is put up SUCKS. I accidentally dismissed the results about 4 times every time I asked a question.
Yea it still needs some work and the interface does suck balls. I honestly wish it copied Microsoft copilot interface. Also Microsoft copilot seems to be able to respond much quicker and actually is more conversational. Not sure how Microsoft did it but Apple should’ve just copied them.

madness that there are people who thinks it's not more capable. clearly people aren't asking it anything. siri al is great and answers every question i need it to answer just like gemini would.

Alright good to know it was not just me! But thanks again for the pointers on good questions to ask.
That's what I was getting at above. What questions should we be asking it? People have gotten use to Siri not being that good outside of "turn the lights on". I used to try to ask it things and it would be "unlock your iPhone to see!" or "here are web results!" neither which is helpful. So if it is indeed more capable now, those who know should share examples to help others understand what it can do now. (And thanks to ke-iron for providing some!)
I generally don't use AI for anything - just general web searches - so thinking to ask questions in that manner is not something I am use to doing. Hence, why I want people to share their questions.
Siri is certainly improved but not in any real functional way for me. I have the beta for iPad OS27 and it certainly handles requests better. Someone had sent me an address at one point over a year ago and I asked for it knowing the city only and who the text came from. It was able to find it. As a test I asked to find a picture of a previous motorcycle I had based on the colour and it did it. First one is helpful, second one is more novelty. But Siri before this pretty much. useless for anything other then setting an alarm.
I have not tried to use it professionally. I use ChatGPT for various tasks. I will try them out when the gold release happens for the MacOS but I have feeling it will not be able to handle various tasks I use ChatGPT for such as uploading log cards from staff, having the AI sort it and put together a report in excel for me. Or to upload a PDF and have it check CMYK colour makeup of a specific piece in the image. I think the new and improved Siri is still purely focused on consumer use and nothing really beyond that.

even as somebody as simple as working out my ev charger costs for example
If my charge has used 15.6kwh and used 8.8p how much has this cost
siri al- The total cost for your charge is £1.37 (137.28p).
then to follow up with
If adding 64 miles costs £1.37 how much would it cost from 10 miles to 169?
it answers with It would cost approximately £3.40 to charge your car for the 159 miles from 10 to 169 miles.
so every challenging question it answers as well as any gemini question. so while it is beta and will make mistakes it is miles better than old siri and it's got to level where i don't need to use gemini app at all which is all i need from al assistant
to my surprise i use it for these type of questions alot.
then when it comes to finding photos or words i said in a text or finding an e-mail for my holiday booking. any time i want it to look into what i'm looking at on my screen it nails it
Nice marketing to try and hype up a feature that nobody wants. I certainly won't be on that "waitlist". Siri and Apple Intelligence are both failures...Apple just doesn't get it, do they?
