The toggle for Apple Intelligence is indeed missing in iOS 27. The only option is turning Siri off altogether, but then we lose CarPlay, as it won’t work without it.

For me, Siri AI is a mix. Compared to the current version, it makes a step forward in bringing the dedicated chatbot app, but fails at simple tasks like playing a playlist or calling a contact. I was hoping that it would be getting better as the beta cycle progresses, but as of now (DB7/PB5) it is still struggling. Let’s see how it goes with the public release.

Yeah but no. It’s true you can toggle it off, but everything else, like the llm assets, remain in the background. AI is woven into the OS. from what I’ve seen in the betas, there is no way to turn it off completely. Unless you move to a device that’s not capable of running AI. And even there the assets remains in the system folder.

Technically, it is true. I think there is a confusion between Siri and Apple Intelligence. In OSs before 27, we had two separate toggles for “Apple Intelligence” and “Siri”. With 27, Apple rebranded “old” Siri as Siri AI and mixed them together. So currently with OS 27 betas we can have either pre-27 Siri with Apple Intelligence or Siri AI, containing the AI model within. There is no way to turn off Apple Intelligence separately from Siri, though. So it is all or nothing.

Juggernauts like Apple are known to stretch the truth, manipulate the narrative, tell their customers what the company believes they want to hear, and what will sell in order to enjoy skyrocketing profits which keep shareholders happy.

No one generates profits like the Cupertino Company. Some customers have been know to post "just take my money".

The entertainment is fueled by those who are all-in with the company narrative. Who defend the company at every turn. Who believe the masters of the proven sales pitch that's worked for decades, providing eye watering profits.

In the high stakes world of AI nothing is off limits.

The chaos continues...

That's exactly what the previous post refers to: "Juggernauts like Apple"

Yet what sets Apple apart is their supreme, highly successful skill in influencing a massive group of devotees. People that buy into the fear of missing out (FOMO) and purchase new devices on that alone. It's fascinating to witness.
 
Will this also apply to those on the beta, who then download the main release? I’m new to the public beta, so unsure.

Yes, Apple are good at mesmerising, yet people are wising up to see through their publicity fog. 😉 Vision Pro flopped, despite all the publicity and the rumoured price increase for iPhones this September will temper many potential frequent upgraders.

New siri is awful. Apple should have just rolled this out two years ago without any fanfare because now expectations are high and this product does NOT deliver. It's the least capable chatbot on the market today.

No it isn't, it a little too slow, but we are running beta which most likely has a lot of extra code in it.
