Not an American, but does Oprah have a huge following, even to this date? Reading most of the comments here seems to say otherwise.

Sometimes, it does feel like someone at Apple way up on the hierarchy is obsessed with Oprah and thus we get this.

There are a lot of men in this country that are threatened by a strong successful woman. That is why you see all of the hateful comments.

I'm sure there are a few idiots that dislike Operah for that reason.

I find the talk show genre vapid and dislike her promotion of Echart Tolle. I get that she's good at her job - I don't understand why any person in the world should be worth the amount of she is.
At a certain point people become famous for being famous.

As for the Oprah book recommendations, the fact that she was a heavy promoter of the "power of now", makes me sceptical of any overlap in the literary field.

Literally could not be less interested in what Oprah is reading, watching or eating. Tim Cook is another matter, I want to know EVERYTHING.

She’s a billionaire. All self made as she was born into poverty. I’d say she’s doing something right.

I know it was meant sarcastically, but would you mind giving a few book tips (Because I figure that our interests overlap better than mine with Oprah)
Lately I’ve been reading Agatha Christie. She’s a superb writer. Just finished “Mrs. McGinty’s” dead and “The Affair at Styles” right before. Very well written and very hard to figure out who is the murderer.

Can Siri tell me what I’m reading? I’m sure the world would want to know.
Without knowing a thing about you, it is highly likely that this would be more useful than what Oprah is reading.

And you all scoffed that Siri was useless!! Can’t innovate my ass!

Meanwhile I get her 60 per cent of the time to turn my Nanoleaf lights the correct color otherwise she just toggles them off.

I think on this forum the male perspective predominates. I’m venturing out onto other forums where women are the predominant participants and Oprah seems well regarded there.

Book clubs in general seem popular with the women I know in day to day life. I am neutral about her myself and I avoid book clubs because I found that among my friends, at least, they pick books that put me right to sleep, as historical biographies often do. I have one friend who swears she never reads fiction. She will never know the joys of Cthulhu. 😢

When my friends start talking about the books they’re reading, I know that’s my cue to offer to go get food or make sure our kids aren’t trying to skateboard into traffic or something. It’s not them, it’s me. I have awful taste. I want my Pennywise the Clown and towns full of werewolves and vampires.

Another reason NOT to enable Siri on any Apple device. Anyone who advertises a thing to me more than once gets put on my 'do not buy' list. I hate all advertisers, adverts. I spent 18 months working in a company that worked closely with Google in the SEO area. I saw how personal data is used at first hand. Advertisers are the dregs of society.

It’s just another option you are provided with. Personally I think I have no interest in ever asking Siri what I should read but hey, nobody throws it at us either.

My iPhone can tell when I’m reading (listening to) in my Books app. It uses this information to send me an unwanted email recommending more books available from the Books app.

She's reading the script for her next whinge & ginge "interview". Probably will take months to get ginge to get his lines right; wonder if they would just use an actor and CGI harold's face on it.

As a Brit, you're welcome to them. Couple of second-rate whingers.

Why can’t they get Siri to do the basics first? Stop doing fluff work and get Siri working to an acceptable level. How many times has Apple said, we’re revamping our team to be more competitive. Show me the progress.
Honestly I'd be pissed off if I worked on the team and the PMs kept deciding on gimmicks like the one in the article instead of vital improvements.
