Agree, this seems to be the thing people miss when they compare Siri with Alexa and Google - it's the privacy features of Siri that hamstring it. Just give Siri an option where I can choose to stick with the existing dumbed-down version or consent to Apple processing and aggregating my data to provide a half-decent AI assistant.This illustrates perfectly what’s wrong with Siri. Everything needs to be hardcoded.
The only way out of this mess is for Apple to develop a new smarter virtual assistant.
They can keep Siri around as the privacy friendly stupid version. And have a new version that integrates more with user data and does actual useful profiling and machine learning. I’m sure most people would switch in a heart beat.
