I hope Apple provides something more useful than "Siri, open Safari" in OSX. Google, Amazon and SRI are way more advanced than Apple.

10.12's major feature will be Siri integration. LOL Apple, leading innovation one useless and broken feature at a time.

Apple first needs to make serious improvements to Siri before continuing with it's integration any further.

On top of that, who wants to talk to their computer all day. I think Siri's use is largely hampered by the fact that it's seen as strange and weird to be giving your phone commands in public.

I don't get why I can say "Hey Siri, turn on Wifi" (or Bluetooth), but she freaks out when I say "Hey Siri, turn on Hotspot." She even acknowledges that "I can't do that, but you can do it in Settings." (With a button to link you to settings)

Even just now, my screen was awake and I said, "Hey Siri, lock my phone." She replied with "Surprisingly, that is not within my capabilities."

Just a guess....but Siri will be more responsive when it's updated to accompany OS X. Well, maybe not a guess, but wishful thinking.

I think with iOS coming to the 10th version Apple will bring some serious improvements to the software (which is why they might wait for big iPhone hardware changes), including Siri. And I'm pretty sure that new and improved Siri that will come to iOS will come to Mac with the same exact capabilities.

I don't know what everyone's complaining about? English is my second language and Siri ALWAYS understands me perfectly in english. And while everyone's saying Siri is so behind and stuff, honestly the only voice assistant that I've seen doing better in real life experiences is Hound, not Google, not Cortana. And I think Siri will get to Hound's levels with iOS 10.

I really like the icon. I find it incredibly annoying how people try to out-think apple's icon design, because they are never better than Apple's. Apple manages to make their icons cohesive, but most importantly, distinct from each other. Every designer I see recreating Apple's icons try to make them more like each other, which is just dumb.

To each their own. I admit my icon isnt that good, but I miss the original Apple logo colors, and thought it would be cool to see them again.

Besides just being totally in love with the idea of Siri on my Mac (fingers crossed I can type natural language queries in addition to saying them), this should give everyone hope that there will be a major update to Siri's back end. It'll be a short demo if Apple doesn't show off some new tricks.

Siri on Mac doesn't need a Dock icon, it's a service like Spotlight, not a full-featured desktop app.

I have your answer: "Siri" is the Chinglish phonetic pronunciation of the word "Silly"
I just went into flight mode, then said "Hey, Siri" and she pops up a screen: "Siri Not Available... <blah>" CLEARLY YOU ARE AVAILABLE - YOU MANAGED TO RESPOND TO "HEY SIRI"!

Must be some ultra secret security nonsense reason for this madness.

We have arrived back in 2012, please allow 4 hours for the dilithium crystals to cool down before we proceed to warp 9 to take you back to the present and show you how things are, in case you forgot :p

Sweet. I was hoping for yet another menu bar icon.

Only if it's monstrous so it pushes the useful ones off the far edge or under the app menu....

For pete's sake - I already have 16-17 things up there, do we really have to add one more?

Actually a good point. It's a bad design. It'd be more user friendly if Siri said "Sorry, I'm not available, please turn off Airplane Mode".

Cue all the complaints about the icon and how Steve is rolling in his grave...

So Siri is bloatware now?

I swear Apple could announce a zero bezel phone with 5 day battery life and people here would complain about it.
This blog isn't home to Apple fans. That should be obvious by now. It's a troll haven for Apple haters

Been wanting this and more for years, finally Star Trek has come to the desktop. Unfortunately it'll be more like this...

Siri:
Spend the day troubleshooting why I we can't access the Samba share drive.

@MacRumors can you start preparing to hide some of these actual leaks. WWDC is approaching and I dont want to see these spoilers 3 weeks before the event.

Thanks,

Jyby

Why? I never understood this. Why don't people want knowledge? Why do people come to a website BUILT to distribute rumours when they don't want to hear them?

Hence it says "... connect to the internet", at the end ;)

It's like a vegetarian going to a steak house and complaining they only sell beef based food :D

Heh. I actually came across a one star Yelp review of a vegan restaurant where they were flipping out that they didn't have at least one meat option, you know, for meat eaters..
