I guess no one has an answer for this one.

I guess this question doesn't have an answer yet.

You really, honestly can't think of anything yourself? Mental block? Some quick off the cuff thoughts:
  • Setting a new appointment/reminder
  • Dictating a note
  • any of the other stuff you might normally use Siri for

Now whether putting Siri on an ipad makes a significant difference in usability or not is a whole other discussion, but it seems pretty silly that you can't think of anything on your own.

Someone should ask Siri if she knows of the iPad 3.

I've been trying to get it out of her. She gave a positive response.

For clarification, I've asked her if she will be on other things. She gave a negative response.

- Setting up reminders while my hands are busy (doing the dishes perv!)
- Sending texts while I'm busy doing something else (see above perv!)
- While forn... er, forget it.
Haha, you forgot placing emergency messages when you can't get the key into the handcuffs....

:)

I think there is a very high probability we will see Siri on the iPad.

Judging by the rumors, SJ had planned to integrate Siri into the home theater and be the game changing way to interact with your TV.

If the rumors are true, and the iPad will release alongside an updated Apple TV with new 1080p iTunes content, the iPad and Siri could be your remote. Talk into the iPad or iPhone to play content directly on your TV through the Apple TV. (The Apple TV would be too far away and is often stuck into confined entertainment centers to hear voice controls properly)

March 7 seems like the perfect time to release this functionality.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I think Siri will defiantly be on the new iPad, and will soon be on most apple products in the near future.

I really want to know how many people Apple has to maintain the Siri-Answer-Database for such questions. But hey, at least it's a way. I'm sure Siri signed a NDA anyway before she got the job.

I trust Siri. She's a very reliable source. Someone is keeping it in the know, or else we wouldn't have known she was learning Japanese.

I would like to see Siri on the iPad 3, i didn't upgrade to the 4S, so i haven't had the pleasure of meeting her yet, it would be a nice feature to have i think. And it's not as if it will take much to implement, all the technology is already there.

Stop with the insults.

Thank you for answering the question. It will be interesting to see what else they will have siri do. :D

I would not be surprised. Apple seems to be running out of ideas (cameras on nanos, etc)

Do you mean that Apple seems to be running out of ideas like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air, ATV, and whatever else they're going to release this year? Because, it seems to me, these ideas have pretty effectively made Apple the most valuable company in the world, mostly because they seem like pretty great ideas to the millions and millions of people who eagerly buy them. I know they sure seem like good ideas to me!

Stop with the insults.

Did I ask a snarky question and make a snarky comment? Yes, in response to your snarky questions.

Did I insult you? No, I said nothing about you. Closest was that the circumstances seemed silly in that you weren't extrapolating many of the same things Siri is used for on iPhones to how Siri would be used on an iPad. I then provided examples.

I'm sorry that you felt insulted by my calling the situation silly.

Apparently this is a touchy subject. I never said the ideas were bad. I said they were running out of them. Meaning. Running out of different things to do with their current devices. Hense why I would not be surprised if SIRI was added to just about everything they currently offer in the future.

You did insult me and I accept your apology. The question wasn't mine, but someone else's, but it's ok that you didn't see that. :)

it would be useful if Apple included decent head phones with a built in mic that would work with SIRI so I don't have to yell at my iPad.

Heh! :) Nah, not so touchy for me. Sorry if I came off prickly. Just thought it seemed like a bit of a stretch to say they're running out of ideas...yet. No doubt, it's going to be quite the rabbit trick for Apple to keep up their currently phenomenal rate of product development and market expansion, but given the fact that they've already totally redefined the personal technology market on a few occasions now, I'm not going to write them off quite yet.

That being said, I tend to agree with you that Siri will end up in more of the iDevices before long. As for the iPad 3, I'm not quite convinced of it, but I hope that I'm wrong. We'll just have to wait and see...

I think Siri will end up on a lot of Apple's products too and I'd like it if they put it on the iPad 3.

I don't really see the benefit of Siri on the iPad, I'm not going to be carrying it around everywhere as it isn't as convenient as an iPhone. Talking to an iPad is verging on obnoxious, and every time I picture it, I'm cast back to Trigger Happy TV and the giant phone skits.

It's also going to need a constant data connection, which is something that a WiFi iPad isn't going to be able to provide.

I didn't know it needed a constant data connection to make appointments. That would be a problem on the WiFi iPads. Good point.

I hope she is willingly on the iPad 3 and other Apple products. Wouldn't want her to be defiant.

I definitely think Siri is going to be on the new iPad3.

Siri is just software, so its not like it would get in the way of anything internally, and since it works beautifully on the iPhone, why not incorporate it on the iPad. I will just be one more feature that will make the iPad that much better, and also distinguish it self that much more.

So in the end, it is already on the iPhone, so why not have it on the iPad, it would only improve the iPad, and there is no advantage to leaving it off, it would be a disadvantage.

I believe Siri will be on the iPad 3. For those who say she won't be because it requires a Internet connection: most of the things you do with your iPad require an Internet connection. People understand you need a data connection to use certain features. With no Internet you can't send/receive email, you can't browse the web, you can't use google maps, you can't stream movies or tv shows, you can't stream music, etc.

It's not that big of a deal if Siri is included in the iPad 3 if there are wifi only models. People will understand that that feature requires Internet. And if they try it without Internet it will simply reply with "sorry, I cannot connect to the server" or something.

It seems like Siri is a big deal to Apple, and to include it in the iPad and possibly the macs later down the line once it's out of beta just makes sense.

Well I had Siri on my jailbroken iPad 1 and she worked fine.
It was a little slow at times but worked for the most part.
I actually got used to her being on the iPad and used her quite often.
But having her through Cydia will also allow you to have more commands and things to do for her like open and close apps.
I'm hoping Apple will put Siri on the iPad 3 or I will put her back on as soon there is a jailbreak.
