I believe Siri will be on the iPad 3. For those who say she won't be because it requires a Internet connection: most of the things you do with your iPad require an Internet connection. People understand you need a data connection to use certain features. With no Internet you can't send/receive email, you can't browse the web, you can't use google maps, you can't stream movies or tv shows, you can't stream music, etc.

It's not that big of a deal if Siri is included in the iPad 3 if there are wifi only models. People will understand that that feature requires Internet. And if they try it without Internet it will simply reply with "sorry, I cannot connect to the server" or something.

But it doesn't go along with Apple's consistent approach to things across their hardware. Having one iPad capable of Siri at any time whilst the other can't do anything if you're not near WiFi isn't ideal.

The whole point of Siri is that it is always on and available at any time, it's a personal assistant, it completely goes against the reason for its existence if it breaks when you leave the house.

I had a thought, seeing as in some households, an iPad is a communal device, unlike an iPhone which is generally a personal device, would they implement a voice recognition system into Siri, so it knew who was talking to it, i've been thinking about it, and it sounds like the sort of thing Apple would do.

No worries, and I fully agree. It cannot be easy to keep pulling great innovative ideas out of a hat for every device. I wonder what the next "big thing" is gonna be from them.

True, but they might make an exception for the iPad.

No Siri on the iPad after seeing today's iPad Launch. Dictation only.

NO SIRI on the "new"... IPAD 2012?

I thought for SURE they would have it ! But to my surprise.. no ! Oh well..... Soon we will hear just why they didn't. I will get my IPAD 2012.....NEXT week.......aaaaaand this summer or whenever IPHONE 2012 (5)...comes out I will have to get that also......SIRI will have MATURED a great deal by then! And the UPGRADES in the IPHONE 2012....should be INCREDIBLE!!! (as usual.....too many expect the yearly upgrade to FLY or make LOVE to them.......relax and just enjoy!)

Can anyone confirm that SIRI does NOT require any special hardware (chips) to run/implement? Does the IPhone have any custom hardware (dedicated processor) for this or just a verson of SIRI software running on the CPU?
