Because I conceal carry, I have my front right pocket empty for comfort. Even though my phone is in a case and has a screen protector, it's still uncomfortable to sit on and I don't want to either smash it against a hard surface or blow a pocket from leverage. So if I cannot sit it on a flat, secure surface where I'm sitting, it goes into my front right pocket until I move. Then it goes back to my back left pocket.

I suspect no one wants to hear this but OP’s issue is exactly why I just can’t get by with the current popular size phones, regardless of which pocket used, they’re just too dang big and unwieldy. I tried a 14 for about 1 week and it protruded and fell from my pockets… I honestly cannot fathom how many/most people manage to keep their 14 and 14 plus size phones in their pockets.
Anyway, to OP’s question, no I almost never sit on the phone. Seems very unwise. Side pockets only, and other posters’ good strategies also when possible.

Semi on topic, I miss my one pair of Jnco Jeans. Found this on ebay, might have to get it one of these days, haha:

could fit two phones in each those back pockets! Only $151… lol
Normal clothing? I run an 11PM win a case and have no issue with it falling out of any pocket unless I take my pants off and forget to remove it.

Every time I saw Howard Wolowitz (The Big Bang Theory) put his phone in his back pocket then sit on it made me cringe, although some of the early seasons he had a flip phone....o_O

Call me a geek, but I have used a belt holster for years for my phone.

Depends on your weight, but if you're a normal sized <190lbs human, I'd be more concerned of it being shoved out of my back pocket and falling on the floor when sitting down.

Front pocket and with no keys, change or anything that may scratch. And I use a case and a screen protector. Practice safe phoning!

Fits in your pocket protector? Awesome

A case won’t really help prevent bending/breaking from sitting on your phone. I would not recommend sitting on your phone, remember bendgate? Metal will bend but glass will crack.

I have kept every phone I've owned in a shirt pocket everyday. It rarely falls out (in winter there's usually a sweater over it) and is readily available, and would be difficult to steal. I buy Pro phones but not Pro Max (pockets aren't big enough). Of course this isn't an option for most women's clothing (but they often don't have big enough pockets either).

Sorry guys, the bra is sometimes the best place for smaller iPhones.
No harm, and it stays close to heart ♥️ 😂

My wife has a dual phone belt holster. ;)

iPhone 11PM and Pixel 3a XL (which she uses as a work phone).

When it's just her with one phone at a time she still sits on them (back pocket).

My personal reason for not putting it in your back pocket is because I have had two wallets stolen from my back pocket over my years on the earth. I certainly wouldn’t want my phone lifted. In both cases my back pocket had a button or a zip to close it but I never felt a thing either time

such outrageous responses. apple knows that millions of people sit on their phones, myself included. unless you weigh 600lbs and have a stone ass you won't have any problems. people on MR love to fear the "what if" (see battery charging paranoia threads) but I have yet to hear one story of someone bending a recent iPhone. I didn't buy a phone that's sold as "durable" and "stands up to regular usage" so that I could have anxiety and baby it.

There's a difference between putting your phone on your back pocket and sit down and "having anxiety and baby it".

Anyone have any experience sitting on a larger naked iPhone?

I generally keep my phone in my back pocket.

I’ve got a mini 13 now but kept my 11 in my back pocket as well. I sat on it a few times, usually accidental or some sort of strange situation. The phone was always fine (I did bend a … 6 I think? … one time) but it was uncomfortable enough that I would always remove the phone. It either ends up face down on the table or shifted into a different pocket. Or I’m using it.

Besides breaking it, I would worry that it is easily pickpocketed/stolen. Of course, it does depend on how tight the jeans are and the pocket.

That would be main concern.

Bad idea. Bad for the phone with all the weight on it and bad for your lower back. But thieves would approve putting it in the rear pocket.
I once saw a girl riding a bicycle and her phone was halfway from falling out of her back pocket. Never cringed so hard.
