This bigger iPad would make much more sense if it actually ran OS X. They could call it the "MacPad" or something. Fully-functional Macintosh computer, specialized to work with touch screen (onscreen keyboard, etc.)
If Apple is dumb enough to do this, at least be smart enough to not put a 4:3 display on a 13" tablet.
iPad Maxi? Based on the fact nobody is talking about this I can safely assume Maxi is a brand of sanitary towel only available in the UK.
This is indeed a size comparison.
I just don't see a 12.9 inch iPad happening.
The screen size war is only going on so manufacturers can stuff bigger batteries and "better specs" than the competition. There are plenty of android folks lamenting the fact that they can't find smaller phones with the latest specs. Gee, I wonder why?I don't see the larger one taking on in large numbers. Maybe more for laptop users.
I can't wait until this screen size war is over. I think Jobs was right about the correct sizes for devices. In a few years many will see this.
Making a device larger doesn't make it a better or more innovating device.
Maybe a 12.9" hybrid iPad with iOS and OSX. The iPad needs to evolve as a proper replacement for the MBA, maybe MBP.
Why is the 12.9, which is smaller than 13, look that much bigger than the 13" Air?
Because it's a horrible attempt at a render. The "12.9" inch iPad looks more like 15 inches.
Give it a phone function and shut up the "needs a bigger screen" iPhone detractors.
The Mini is not all that much larger than my Android phone - a 5.5" Lenovo K900.
