With something this thin, having the camera extended a bit will help to pick this up from a flat surface no?

I hope the camera doesn't protrude from the case. For some reason it really bugs me on the iPod.

Aesthetically, it's definitely not as nice. But a recent Apple patent showed how a raised camera could be used to securely attach better lenses. This makes sense in a way because we seem to be reaching the limits of what's possible with optics in smartphones as thin as the iPhone.

Actually.. the flash lends support to this being genuine

Having multiple less for the true tone flash doesn't necessarily mean the flash port has to be an oval shape. It's very easy to narrow the separation between multiple flash LEDs (especially for a company with Apple's pull) and use a single lens and round port.

I would argue that this is something we should be expecting from i6. There's really no reason the true tone flash needs to be as big as it is is i5 except maybe for heat reasons. There's every reason to expect it to be shrunk in i6.

At least these rumours will keep me busy until a new Mac Mini is released.
I am not sure what to make of it. The flash seems wrong, and a camera that sticks out doesn't seem very Ive, on the other hand I didn't expect some previous leaks to be real...
Either way, I am fairly sure I will buy the next generation, and the next...

I really wish Apple would stop focusing so much on making every new iPhone design thinner and lighter. Not once have a picked up my 5S and thought "damn, this phone is just too thick and heavy." But I have thought "Ugh, I can't believe my battery is dying already" on quite a few occasions. I was fine with the weight and thickness of the 4/4S and the 5/5S is definitely plenty thin and light. At this point, I would rather Apple keep the thickness the same and give us noticeably better battery life.

Just my 2 cents...

I disagree, I use an ipod touch around the house, and swap it out for an iphone 5 when I leave the house and I am depressed to pick up that fat clunky brick. I think they could even half the weight of the ipod touch eventually as well, but going to extremes, credit card thin and light might be a little too extreme. but only a little.

So basically you're saying the iPhone 6 will look just like an HTC One. If Apple does that they deserve all the ridicule they'd get for completely ripping off a competitors design.

HTC licensed design elements from Apple. HTC is actually paying Apple and Apple agreed to let HTC use elements of Apple's UI design on their phone. So if you're going Android, buying an HTC phone sends some money back to Apple.

You do realize a lot of manufacturing machinery runs on software that only supports XP
Heck, many of the machine control systems could be running Windows 3 or 3.11.

Seen those (this year) for western-owned automotive plants. Yes, your new super car was made with an OS from 1990/1992.

Could the protruding lens have something to do with this?

Yeah, but I mean, how many people are that serious about taking pictures with their iPhone? I guess maybe it's worth going to all that trouble especially if the camera has to protrude anyway for the sake of the thinness of the rest of the phone. Then is Apple going to produce a line of lens attachments? I can't see that happening. So they're going to design a proprietary attachment mechanism just in case some third parties want to make lens attachments? Just doesn't seem very plausible to me, but then again, I'm almost always completely wrong.

I want my iPhone even thinner than this leak. Of course I want the same if not better battery life too. Apple knows that seeing and holding the iPhone is the real selling point. A battery life chart just doesn't excite people and besides, iPhone is on par with all the other smartphones out there. They are all +/- 10% better or worse so who cares?

Shouldn't this have FCC info printed on it or did that go away? Confused why one would write/print on the shell it.

I don't disagree with you. I guess I would just hope that they would have a bit more of a reason for the lens to protrude than making the rest of the device thinner. As someone who doesn't use a case with my iPhone (unless I'm in a situation in which it's more likely to get damaged), I would find this to be very annoying.

Apple would never ever release an iPhone addressing the .01% market that cares about interchangeable lenses. If it happened to work with a sleek iPhone chassis, great. But a a camera lump on the rear of the phone is anything but sleek. I wouldn't buy that on principal and I am a professional photographer/videographer that has owned and enjoyed every iPhone released so far.
