I have never owned an iPhone that worked longer than 2,5 hours (usage). I don't know if it's because the 3G network in Belgium is so horrible that the phones need to work harder, but it would be great if I can get through the day without having to charge at least once.

All my friends and colleagues complain about horrible battery lives on their iPhones 5 and 6. Guess a smaller battery is definitely not the solution

Why don't they just improve the battery efficiency in the processor, AND leave the current size battery in? Make the back of the phone flush with the camera lens in order to have more room for the battery. You'd be able to lay it on a table with no wobbling, have more battery life, and probably easier to hold phone with the added bit of thickness.

This is a company that brags about how thin their desktop computer is. Not gonna happen. I mean, imagine how cool the iMac would run if they had kept the thickness of the previous gem iMac and focused on better cooling. We aren't going to see an increase in battery life until Apple runs into the laws of physics and can't make it any thinner.

Because this is Apple. By putting a smaller battery in it, they already got you wanting to upgrade your new phone to next year's model. Planned obsolescence 101.

Typical bs myth found usually in this forum!
You may not realise many people are still using iPhone 4 and 4s, or iPad 2 and still loving it. I see them everywhere.I can not say that for devices made by other companies.

So much for planned obsolescence

The comment that made the observation on the lack of front camera is spot on. This is a fake

Seeing as how the the iPhone 6/6 Plus are only marked on the box as ':Apple logo: iPhone' and not the 'iPhone 6' I doubt this is real. The Air 2 is the same way: ':Apple logo: iPad Air' not iPad Air 2.

Not sure about this. I don't think you could say too much about the thickness of the box because it's clearly all one layer that's supposed to fold over itself to make a dual layer cardboard.

It's nice that hopefully they will be making the box have color on it again. After spending nearly $1,000 for my 6 Plus I was not all that excited that they made a cheap looking plain white embossed box.

Smaller battery might mean more room for Force Touch.

We thought the .2mm increase in size was enough for the force touch.
iOS 9 will help battery life, but if they decrease the battery size we won't have a good increase in battery life, it may remain the same as current model.

I think this may be a issue for the 6 not the 6 plus.

I believe it's fake, look at the top of the phone image... only speaker and no camera/sensors? sorry but everytime apple put a real phone image in the boxes they are 100% replica of the real phone...

But its a really grainy photo, it has to be real…

see also:- Dont apple shrink wrap all their product boxes for protection in store? So you wouldn't know the box had an opening front until you opened the wrap… at which point it would appear to be a gimmick. Apple don't usually do gimmicks, they tend to only include features when they have to. That would include having flappy opening boxes that show off a random picture on the phone front (which looks just like the current phone).

If the box is a fake I'm also hoping the battery claim is equally as legitimate. Smaller battery would be another thing for press and the like to latch onto and say 'ooh look the battery is smaller, how rubbish is Apple' etc etc…

I don't mean to sound spectacular or rambunctious, but with only (supposedly) 2 weeks to go until the event, I think we can be (highly) confident that the moment of what the overall experience of what the iPhone 6s will be bring come keynote day/unboxing day will look like. We basically have the specs, the box, the design of the phones....what else are we missing?

Like with the past several years, this article marks that point in time in the next-gen iPhone release cycle where, the die-hard spoiler-free amongst us, are fearful if these are actual details of the new phone.

Now it is just a matter of printing out that tic-tac-toe board and verifying if these rumors are true or not (most of the time these rumors are correct).

Yes, 6+ has a great battery life so the problem is only for the iPhone 6

We are missing two really important things: A9 internals and the basic storage (16 or 32GB)
We are pretty confident about A9 having 2GB of RAM but we'll find out only when iFixit or other blogs will have access to the phone, while Sept 9th we'll know everything else

Hopefully even with a smaller battery it won't effect things if ios 9 is better for battery life. Note 5 has smaller battery than note 4 but it appears battery life is better.

Will see

If the goldfish picture is true, it's chosen to please the Asian market.

my iPhone 5 battery is absolutely horrendous, I truly hope the battery rumours aren't true.

I was always a supporter of the thin is good crowd. I especially liked the iPhone 6 design and thinness. Even with the standard Apple Leather sleeve the phone is still well balanced and fits in my pants pocket very well.

But iOS 8 is crazy inefficient with my battery. I need to charge my phone twice a day because the photos app keeps running in the background and does all kinds of crazy synchronization stuff. And because it is a standard Apple app, I can't turn that synchronization off without disconnecting from iCloud. I have a large photo library (just became a dad, so millions of baby pics).

So with this I hope Apple will truly focus on battery efficiency in iOS9 and make it so that my large batteried iPhone 6 will be able to beat my iPhone 5 in terms of longevity. They way it is now sucks balls.

I find it awful, but I really don't care about the package. I wonder if this kind of picture may be the one chosen as background for the advertising. For iPhone 6 they went for the black model with the purple flower, this time it may be a while model with the goldfish.
