Who said anything about customer demands? Reading comprehension called, it's looking for you

I'll ignore the idiotic "reading comprehension" blabber and quote your original "claim":

This is a marketing strategy. When people see my iPhone 6+ they immediately ask me if it's iPhone 6s+, cos from outside there is no difference.

Space grey is the top selling color. If there won't be any design change on iPhone, iPhone 7 will NOT sell as many as 6 and 6s. The only way people can show off their "new" iphone would be if it was a different color than 6/6s.

Apple is targeting space grey by making it an obsolete color, to push more people into "upgrading" to "dark blue". If everyone has seen the reports, 50% of iPhone buyers don't upgrade their phones for 2+ years.

edit: Oh, and I won't be surprised if Apple introduces a new iPhone color every year making the newest iPhone more distinguishable on sight

According to your "theory", people want to show off their new phones and the only way they can do that is by having a phone with a new colour. Even you should by now understand that your "claim", as quoted, implies that there IS a demand for the new colour. And Apple is feeding that demand by introducing a new colour.

What is your problem, if I may ask :) ?

SERIOUSLY!? Space grey has got to be the most popular colour surely!? All my iPhone/iPads etc have always been black or space grey. Much as I like the thought of a navy blue, surely that should be an addition to the space grey/black variant. Especially given that the gold and rose gold are to me and most people I know, more a niche colour.

,

Sigh...I said it is a "marketing strategy" by Apple to make space grey obsolete and people can "show off" their new iPhone easier if it comes out in a new color, since the body design hasn't changed since iPhone6
I even added "I wouldn't be surprised if Apple introduced a new color every year"

You have to be an imbecile to say that I "claimed there is a customer demand for a new color" :)

I , as a customer, am not demanding a new color (enough with the multiple colors already)
If Apple gave in to customer demands they would have introduced a macbook with a decent dvga instead of using 3-4 year old AMD chip, or would have updated their TB display years ago (1440p TB display still going for how many dollars after how many years?)
Apple doesn't follow customer demands, Apple shapes customer demands :)
I don't know I can say this in a more elaborate way. Capisci? :)

Instead of assuming that others are "imbeciles", you might want to try to follow through with your own "logic":

I wouldn't be surprised if they did
I know many people who'd not want to be seen with an old iPhone (i.e. space grey)

i.e. space grey - so obviously a new colour would be in demand to show that it's a new phone. You even had the mental capability to explain it yourself, what's the problem now?

Obviously people disagree, customers like having multiple colours (did you whine equally when they came out with "rose gold", which apparently is very popular?) to choose from. Who cares about WHY they want different colours, apparently there is a demand for new colours and nobody will be surprised if a blue iPhone sells great. The underlying motive for buying one is completely irrelevant here, again - Apple is following the demand for something that sets the new phones off from the old ones, exactly as you've said all along.

Again, you said yourself that people don't want to be seen with an old iPhone in space grey, that also includes the fact that they want something that sets off the new ones from the old ones. It's somewhat sad that I need to explain the conclusion - which you almost reached yourself - to you. Throw another few "imbeciles" at me and move on.

Wow. The only buzz is a new color? Or hardware technology that has been selling for over a year by Samsung? Or watchbands. Really? Watchbands? Pieces of mass produced plastic or metal sold at ridiculous prices to the gullible.

I own 2 macs, 1 pad, 1 phone and an ATV2...so I classify myself as a fan of Apple, but christ almighty, where is the new, exciting hardware?

BTW...the color of a phone is really a very minor thing as 90% of phone owners wrap them in a cover to protect them against scratches and drops. Colors as a marketing item are, well, really silly, IMO.

Has Apple lost it mojo? I, for one, vote ....yes!

Mojo seems to be lost. I will make up my mind at the end of the year. When the new products are in store. Hopes are low. What are the alteratives? I just started looking around after years of apple. Migration won't come easy with 4 macbookPros, 4 iPads and 4 iPhones, 4 appleTVs, 2 Time Capsules and one MacMini Server and one watch.
