You just convinced me to order one from sopiguard, Raist3001. I had ordered an ASK wrap from slickwraps, and I have heard nothing in the 2 weeks since I’ve ordered. If Sopiguard can come through quicker and be more responsive than slickwraps, they get my business, and slickwraps gets a return.
I ordered my skin from Sopiguard yesterday and it shipped out this morning. Slickwraps has the worst shipping Long before the pandemic.

Unless the Sopiguard skin is a total disaster, I am going to request a refund for the Slickwraps one as soon as it arrives. I didn’t realize that they had such gawdawful customer service...

Was surprisingly easy even with it being a little thinner than dbrand. Found it easy to hold both edges of the skin and line the top of the skin with wherever it’s supposed to go and sticking it down from there. If you do mess up, it is pretty easy to remove as long as you haven’t pressed down on it yet. A hair dryer was also useful for making sure it sticks down and removing bubbles (like around the Apple logo).

I have a Slickwraps order that's constantly in the "Processing" stage and I emailed them trying to cancel with no results. I wanted to order a Sopiguard but don't have a blowdryer.

Do you think it would be ok if I had a heat pad and smoothed it out that way? I really want to get Sopiguard but don't want to purchase a blowdryer just for a one time function.

It should be fine, just need some source of heat. I believe the blow dryer is not a requirement (especially on the flatter parts), but because of the heat it produces it makes the skin more pliable and allows it to stick better (if there are any curves especially).

Has anyone been able to contact or cancel their Slickwraps order? I placed an order over a week ago and it's still processing. I sent emails but no response. And their telephone number on their website automatically disconnects.

Is there a different telephone number I can call directly? Thanks~

I have not been able to cancel or get a status on mine. I’ve submitted three cases on their website and tried DMing and tweeting at them on Twitter and have gotten 0 responses. They charged my card for this order in mid-April, so they already have my money and I have nothing to show for it.

I had the same thing happen to me in 2/2019...I waited for over six weeks for my Slickwraps order to be shipped. Gave up and filled a dispute via PayPal...which a refund was granted when SlickWraps did not respond to the dispute. At that time, I ended up ordering my skins from https://www.istyles.com/ and they were delivered within 3 days. Take at look at the BBB complaints for Slickwraps and their data breach recently. I will never order from them again.

Same here, I never got my Slickwraps order or a refund. Never again. I've had several good experiences with DecalGirl.

In my experience, you can't go wrong with Decal Girl and dBrand. I have had products from both companies on my iPads and my Nintendo Switch and I have been very impressed. Never had either of them take longer than a week or so to get my order processed and in my mailbox. And for my recent dBrand order, I needed to change something right after I put it in--they answered me within minutes of my request, had the order changed, and still got it to me in under a week.

Well I put in my order April 30th, so I guess it’s been a week now. How long should I wait before I dispute it with paypal? When i look up the order on their website, it says processing, the same as it did the moment i made it. Reading everyone’s experwinces here made wish I had read about them sooner so I don’t have to go chasing my money down. At this point, I don’t even want what I ordered anymore :(

Received my Sopiguard skin (dark wood color today). Overall I really like it.

Did you use a blowdryer for the install? Do you think you need to use one?

No, I just put it on very carefully. There are air bubbles when you first put it on but I just applied pressure with my hands/palm and was able to get rid of those. Pulled the decals off of the keyboard section and just have it on the front and back now after using it for a day or two

I have my skin ready to apply and have been debating whether to use it above and below the keyboard. I think the aesthetics of that will bug me, but also fear that the part below the keyboard will be the most susceptible to excess wear and tear. What to do, what to do...?

Also, how easy did the skin come off?

It’s a personal preference of course, I thought the interior pieces were tacky and I did not install them.

My Sopiguard skins arrived today. I had ordered them only for the side pieces and am keeping the back as a spare in case I ruin my dBrand somehow.

For any of you worrying about needing a hair dryer for the curvy areas, I don’t think you do. Be mindful that you’re not stretching out the pieces—it’s easy to think you need to do that, but you don’t, just gently lay them in place where they need to line up and everything will sort itself out.

I did have a bit of overlap at the ends, and I don’t mind that. I just stuck it on as-is. Overall, I’m happy with the product. I just wish Apple would come up with something more protective of the sides.

Just applied my skin for the MK from DecalGirl and it looks great. As others noted, it’s not a perfect fit but it works for now.

I may order one from SopiGuard later on.

Bought and installed the exact same one. I went without the Apple cutout.
Nice. I got it more for protecting the back from my hands as i hold the tablet when i use it away from the AMK, so i wanted to keep the apple cutout. I can see wear on my MBP where my wrists rest to either side of the trackpad, and wanted to avoid that discoloration.

Got the Sopiguard skin today, but have not installed it yet. Got the same pattern (honeycomb) as the dbrand skin on the pack of the IPP. I will definitely not put on the skin on the trackpad, and am still debating on whether i should put it on to either side of the trackpad. The upper inner section and the external stuff is definitely going on.

Just need to get around to cleaning the whole thing; the place I live in is very dusty, and all my stuff gets dusty quickly as a result :(

Ok, I installed it. The Sopiguard skin is thinner than the dbrand skin, which makes it much harder to work with. Also, it will stretch if you have to pull it up to get at a stubborn bubble, which caused me to mess it up a little bit around the camera hole. I would definitely recommend a heat gun, hairdryer or heating pad to help seal the edges as bubbles kept creeping in if I didn't. Once you do that, its more difficult to peel off, so don't do that until you are fully done. Take extra double plus time and care around the camera hole and over the apple logo. However, I am overall satisfied with the results.
