Ok, I installed it. The Sopiguard skin is thinner than the dbrand skin, which makes it much harder to work with. Also, it will stretch if you have to pull it up to get at a stubborn bubble, which caused me to mess it up a little bit around the camera hole. I would definitely recommend a heat gun, hairdryer or heating pad to help seal the edges as bubbles kept creeping in if I didn't. Once you do that, its more difficult to peel off, so don't do that until you are fully done. Take extra double plus time and care around the camera hole and over the apple logo. However, I am overall satisfied with the results.

Looks fantastic installed! Bought the same skin. Should be here on Wednesday. Can't wait to give it a go.

Quick question thinking of buying a skin for the 12.9 pro from dbrand. Think i would be able to just put it on the back of the magic keyboard case instead or wouldn’t that work?

You would have to cut it to account for the part in the case that allows you to adjust the viewing angle. If you didn’t cut it it would bubble and because of the thickness it wouldn’t have much give to it.

I’ve used skins from several brands over the years. I really like my dBrand on my iPad, but it’s thick and very sticky and I’d be worried about it putting bubbles in the material on the MK case when you pull it off. I just put a DecalGirl skin for the Smart Keyboard case on my magic keyboard and am liking how it fit/looks. It’s not as thick or sticky feeling as DBrand so I’m not worried about it causing bubbles when I take it off.

Thanks, been looking for a leather skin for the MK but had no luck so far.

Thanks!
I still need to do some more heat gun treatment to the edges, but it's looking great so far. I actually used my Apple Pencil to get the skin to adhere nicely in the apple logo; just use the point to push the skin into the little crevices, and you can get a tight fit. As always, take your time :)

Decided to order dbrand skin for 12.9 pro guessing will work fine with the MK and got one for the phone. Both leather will see how it turns out

Hopefully it’s easy to do lol

I’m surprisingly happy with how the SopiGuard turned out. It was relatively easy to apply and didn’t really feel like the blow dryer made much of a difference. I wasn’t planning to install the pieces above and below the keyboard itself, but decided to go ahead and just remove them later if I don’t like them. They actually don’t look as tacky as I thought they would - maybe you guys feel differently? I do feel like the skin on the trackpad has slightly reduced its sensitivity, especially the tap to click function, so I may be removing that soon.

That’s why i didnt apply the trackpad portion of the skin, I felt it would reduce sensitivity since i have tap-to-click enabled (the click of the trackpad is way too loud, i wish it was like my MBP’s is).

I ordered the Dbrand skin for my 2020 ipad pro at the same time i ordered the ipad and keyboard. It works perfectly. I got the matte black and it looks amazing as it matches the Magic Keyboard.
I figured i would be pulling the iPad off the case a lot more now and needed at least some protection. As an added benefit if feels much more grippy than the aluminum of the iPad itself.

If you take the stickers off carefully, it won’t damage the material. If you just yank them off, they can lift the top layer of the material away from the base. That looks like similar damage that I’ve seen some people post where the folio is discoloured and bubbling/rippling.

But, any sort of sticker does lead to the folio becoming faded underneath, so when you take the sticker off, there’s a visible outline of it left. However, I’m starting to think that‘s a better option than oily/greasy finger prints...
That was my concern too. I think i would rather baby the MK than risk damaging it with stickers. Time will tell how well these age due to wear and tear.
But so far i love my MK. Highly recommend.

Pulling the vinyl off does not cause the material of the keyboard to pull off and bubble up, at least the Sopiguard. However when I had to peel it back up to get rid of a bubble of the skin, i just pulled slowly and a small amount at a time.

Received my Sopiguard skin (dark wood color today). Overall I really like it. View attachment 913376View attachment 913377
Are you using the I-Blason Halo case with your MK? I have a Halo case lying around somewhere that I used to use with my ASK. Prior to seeing your post, I had asked I-Blason if the Halo would work with the MK and they said no. If you are using the Halo with the MK, any issues In terms of compatibility and/or with it fitting properly? Thanks!!!

Yes, using the i-Blason case. It’s not a perfect fit but functional and you have to force it in there to make it protect the sides. The USB C Port on the side again is functional but you have to press down and slowly stretch out the plastic. Overall for me it’s a good temporary case until something is released for the magic keyboard.

Got a picture? I’ve just ordered a dbrand skin for my ipad pro and iPhone in Fact

Just ordered a 3D matrix skin from SopiGuard for the 12.9 magic keyboard, looking forward to it!

Got my dbrand skin for the back and camera on my 11” iPad Pro. Camera is a little off but the smart connector is spot on. Maybe I could have done it better.

This is going to look really nice on the magic keyboard!
I have a Dbrand black Camo on order for the iPad itself

Just as an FYI, the Sopiguard 3M textured skins ar just as thick as DBrand’s. Comes on the very same 3M paper that DBrand uses. I ordered the charred Dragon and its the same skin DBrand calls Black Dragon. Very happy with my Sopiguard skin. I had mine in 2 days.

Not all of their skins are 3M, though. My forged carbon doesn’t appear to be and the paper had no 3M marking on it.

Same, mine did not have the 3M marking on it (honeycomb), whereas the dbrand swarm skin did.

I think that non 3M skins are a little thinner and thus harder to work with and more prone to stretching if you have to peel it back up to get at a stubborn bubble,
