I swear I saw the new link bracelets having brushed finish in the Apple Store demos. Is only the slate polished?

Good to see others getting theirs now.

It’s as hard to keep clean as the Space Black, though I find just using bare fingers to rub with the brushed ‘grain’ smooths out marks.

I just hope it’s close to being as durable as the SB.

The Link Bracelet design is nine years old now and is still the best look. Do wish there was way to fine tune the adjustment on the fly. Can become looser at times, but removing a link will result in being too tight when hotter.

Ah your the one who posted the pics of the slate link bracelet saying you were pleased you didn’t stick with the SB link bracelet, you’ve cost me £300! (Well £268 perks discount).

I want to like Slate but I can’t help but feel it looks too similar for my liking to the Jet Black Aluminum. For the steep price difference that’s not ideal.

Natural looks nice and sleek but also distinguished enough in its right.
Hit the nail on the head there. Whilst I do want to love the Slate - I feel like it’s too near Jet Black Aluminium territory at first glance. Not ideal at this price point, as you say.

I’ve ordered a Natural, sleek and distinguished and also obviously different to the Slate/Jet Black shades.

Yeah, it was disappointing for “10th anniversary”

That’s fair. I’d argue on a semi “luxury” material smartwatch, a black bezel is the least appealing portion. Give me more beautiful screen size and more beautiful metal and less ugly, black bezel. (Not less metal and more bezel)
Kind of why I opted for the natural titanium.

Dark watches look cheap, silver stainless Steel and titanium look classy and more like a watch; everything I have is darker in tech apart from the watch, and the bezels are horrible so might return and stick with series 7. You don’t even get anymore screen it’s so small you don’t notice side by side and no extra lines or txt; that’s why they compared them to the 4 year old series 6. Shocking apple
I can see where you’re coming from. Darker materials more “techy” (I’d hesitate to use the word “cheap”, just different); the lighter colours look more like a watch.
The Slate and Jet Black look too similar - have I’ve opted for a Natural with the Slate Milanese. Best of both worlds!

Just got a slate model, waiting for the link bracelet to ship separately (back ordered until December). However I am kind of having second thoughts and now wish I went with the natural.

Should be easy to return and replace?

I originally ordered the slate then switched to the natural before I left the store!

One thing I am worried about is scratches like the Silver Stainless Steel, because the Silver didn't have the coating that the graphite one did which was prone to way more scratches.

The slate is just as shiny. I think either may get small scratches with time. Mine is still ok a month in.

I am really trying hard to not obsess about things like I have in the past so I did not go over my AW 10 Natural Ti with a loupe when I got it. But I noticed last night that I have a scratch on the "top" side of the watch (in the silvery part). I don't recall anything that could have caused that but I'm sure I've tapped the watch on things in my daily routine. It's not super noticeable unless I'm looking right at it but it's there. Kind of a little surprised since my "cheap" aluminum silver AW 5 managed to stay scratch free for years.

This is part of the reason why I did not go with the Slate, because any scratch on that would be noticed by me.

I prefer the black/slate finish. Had mine from day one and it still looks lIke new. Not a scratch. I have banged it into many objects and even wore it while gardening. Love it! Tired of silver!

Mine is looking brand new as well, a reason I decided to go with Slate instead of Natural.

I took a closer look at the scratch today and found that it's actually a cluster of small abrasions. I must have hit it against the sink while doing dishes or something. Even then, I'm surprised that it sustained that much damage.
