I took a closer look at the scratch today and found that it's actually a cluster of small abrasions. I must have hit it against the sink while doing dishes or something. Even then, I'm surprised that it sustained that much damage.

Have some scratches on my slate now. Probably from the Milanese loop. Very disappointing that it’s this new and has scratches. Now they’re not very noticeable in real life, but still, should be harder to do this.

I have similar abrasions on my S8 SS graphite. I had thought they may have arisen from tucking tops/shirts into trousers/jeans etc. I think they turned up before I got my Milanese loop

For the black watch lovers, there was nothing more durable than the DLC coating on the SBTi series 7. Mine still looks like new after tears of wear. I fear my S10 Ti will not be as good.

Well said! I sold my Series 7 Titanium Black to upgrade to the Series 10 Slate, although I had mistakenly assumed the 10 would have DLC coating and only found out it was PVD after the 7 was already sold :( Still it was near 80 so it was getting time for an upgrade anyway (as didnt think it would make sense to throw 100 down in a watch that already was rapidly going down in value) but does make me reconsider that maybe it would have been good to hold on to it for another year. That being said, two weeks and the Slate is holding up well, so keeping my fingers crossed it'll have good durablilty although definetely babying it. If the Ultra 2 Black wasnt so big and had the current screen tech of the series 10, I'd have definetely gone with that

I bought the natural and mailanese. Originally I wanted the gold but chickened out, as the natural goes with everything. It is absolutely beautiful. It is like a less bright version of stainless steel, but still polished and shiny

I consider my situation the same... not very noticeable but when I do, I'm aggravated. I still can't believe it was that easy to scratch. I guess I can work this out as I have AppleCare+ but it shouldn't have to be that way.

Problem is the SBTI was much more expensive than the SS version which made it out of reach for most people.

So it looks like I have a small scratch on the sapphire screen. I have no idea how this happened. Before this I had a SS series 7 and it’s still in pristine condition. Very disappointed in the Titanium version of this watch this year, did Apple cheap out on the sapphire screen?
