I just got my new Macbook pro yesterday and I love the computer, I just installed Vista and it took me 3 hours just to install and update it.

Anyways when i have my notebook flat on the desk I noticed that the bottom right is a little elevated, that I could push it down and it moves. That doesn't bother me much but....

When I close the lid the left side is about 1-2 milliliter bent up. The right side of the lid closes perfectly and doesn't move when I push on the right side. However, on that left side, the lid is obviously bent and when I apply pressure to that side it does close all the way.

When I left go of the left side, the lid bents slightly up again.

I have a BTO macbook pro. What do you guys suggest I do?
Should I suck it up and try not to notice the lid everytime I close my $2500 lid's notebook?

Should I call apple (what number?) or bring it to the store?

Any advice would be great!!! : )

OK- I was going to eventually do a whole topic on this- I've just been through the whole process with the exact same problem.

I ended up getting a DOA after a bit of nagging. Long story- but you're entitled to it. The annoying part was, an Apple repair centre had to keep it OVERNIGHT just to confirm it was bent. I cleary showed the guy in store and he agreed, not sure why they had to keep it. Very strange.

Anyway- GO AND DEMAND A DOA!

It's all about how it makes you feel about your Mac. If it makes you feel awful and annoys you then send it back. If I had spent $3, 000 on a machine I'd certainly be kicking up a fuss, but if it doesn't affect the performance and doesn't bother you then I guess you can live with it. I think it's a bit rich of Apple to ask consumers to pay $3, 000 for something which has, in essence, a design or structural flaw.
