The Defenders of Apple are out in force here. They no doubt bragged before about how ingenious MagSafe was and now they give Apple a pass for removing it, instead criticizing the OP for being careless, when that was exactly what the MagSafe was supposed to guard against.
This is exactly what I was thinking! :D

If magsafe was a good idea for all the years Apple used it, and I think it was, than removing it must have been a mistake. Is that logical? Having said that, I think the OP would be very cheeky to return his new computer for lack of magsafe, for he must have known of its absence when he bought the thing.

If the thread starter things MagSafe was useful and could prevent accidents, that's his valid opinion. And if he wants to return his MBP within the return window, it's also his choice and right.

No one argues with his opinion. The removal of magsafe is a negative move as it was a good feature and he better should return it if that is an issue for him, at such a price the machine has to be perfect for ones needs and everyone has different needs.

No one questioned that, it is a very valid opinion.

But buying something for 4300 euro, while knowing that magsafe is gone and then going online whining about it and announcing in a thread that this would be reason to return it, is nothing but ridiculous.

I've owned windows laptop with no ****ing magsafe my whole life and I never dropped it, not even once.

Instead of returning it just buy one of those third-party magsafe things... silly reason to return such a big investment. You must not need it really.

Surface Book has a magnetic charging & data port, same as MagSafe it`s a nice touch, that may just save an expensive repair...

Well that's good. I've never owned a macbook so I've never had magsafe, I think I'll can keep living without it.

That Kickstarter looks pretty cool but it looks like there was a similar indiegogo that raised like 300k and was a complete scam. I figure if these guys are able to make a good product and actually ship it then I'll put some money into it. I also remember those click adapter guys for the Apple Watch they were months late checking tolerances and making prototypes while Chinese companies were already shipping great products. Me personally I'm just not going to give someone money unless they are actually shipping products just seems like a lot of these Kickstarter things end in people not getting anything, people not getting what they expected or people getting it so late that there are already better options on the market.
