used to smoke marlboro reds...
I quit half a year ago though...best decision i made in a while actually:)

Some of you guys sicken me

How do you do this crap to your body? It also hurts the people around you (not including 2nd-hand smoke).

I understood why my father smoked many many years ago, because they did not know it was bad for you. But now, when it IS known that it can kill, people still do it. My father no longer smoke, so it would not be a bad influence on his kids, and so he could live longer to see his grandchildren.

It does not make sense. Its like practical suicide if you ask me.

EDIT: Did not realize how old this thread was:eek:
I bet a ton of you guys have started quitting. :)

I've smoked a camel light on occasion. I always thought parliaments tasted like chemicals. I stopped smoking when I barfed up a bunch of black ash after a night of drinking and smoking. That was like 10 years ago. Now I only smoke Humboldt brand. ;)

My oldest brother was a heavy smoker for the past 40 years. He passed away yesterday afternoon on Christmas Eve at the age of 61. He had been battling pancreatic cancer for 3 years. There are no words to describe how I feel right now. :(

My brand is KENT
In Russia we have Kent Nanotek Neo (very original package and size). It is very handy to keep it in the pocket! :)
I wonder if you have this cigarettes in your country?

The possible negative effects of cigarettes have been known for decades, likely including when your father started. This isn't some new discovery.

Except that it does.

One of many links while googling "pancreatic cancer smoking" (without the quotes)

Yeah I know but it depends what sources you citing. 7 of of 10 patients are heavy drinkers, 3-5% is genetic predisposition and around 30% is linked to smoking. But you know, these days everything is linked to smoking. They talk nitrozamines but junk food got much more nitrosamines than cigarette smoke. So Im not so sure about it.
And look at the bright side. Smoking protects you against Parkinson and colon cancer. Also can be used as a treatment in Crohn disease :D

People aren't who smoke are not idiots for doing so. Smoking is a trap that is soooo easy to fall in to. I worked as a musician on a cruise ship for about a year and smoking/drinking was a favorite pastime for most crew members. Heck, stuck on the sea with beer a packs of smokes going for $1, how could one not take them up?

I fell into the trap too, but fortunately there was a great book circulating around among the staff that everyone said worked like magic. I was pretty skeptical and afraid to quit (I didn't want to give up something that I enjoyed and relieved stress), which prevented me from reading it. When I started to feel the effects of smoking, I went out and purchased the book when the ship was in port. I read the book and honestly had an easy time stopping and enjoyed the whole process. I encountered about 50 other people on the ship and I believe that all but one individual had the same reaction.

All of this sounds too good to be true or like some infomercial from a troll, but I research the book or PM me if you don't believe it.

I'm not judging anyone or preaching, but I'd be glad to assist if anyone would like to escape the smoking trap. Seriously, read the book because you have NOTHING TO LOSE!!!
