Sending work(ed). But receiving always came from odd numbers, never with my contact's name, and with message text as "John Doe - messagemessagemessage".

Trust me, I had it set up correctly. I set it up SEVERAL times, checked the settings each time, and tried both methods - the official app and email push.

I wonder why that's happening. Have you come across anyone else with that problem? Does the same problem occur with the official app or in gv via http? Are your contacts synced with google?

You guys notice faster battery drain from gmail exchange push ?

Can't statistically confirm or deny, I have been noticing faster battery drain. We did just move to an area with spotty cell reception though so that could be an issue as well.

I don't think the updates to Google's push/server searching ability via exchange on iOS would cause an increased drain though since it is user invoked from mail.app and not consistently pinging Google's sever unless a search is currently underway.

Do you mean in comparison to GV app push notification? Can't comment on that because I've always used google push mail via exchange. But if you didn't use it before or now have a higher volume coming in, I would say it definitely would affect battery to some degree.

Does anyone else notice messages from GV via local mail showing up in messages app out of order (if they are longer then a single SMS)?
