- Battery on notebooks improved. Used to get ~2-3 Hours now its telling me that im going to get 5.30 hours.

from 2-3 hours to 5 1/2 ?? i don't believe that -_- you must have mistaken something. how can you double the batterylife of a mature OS with a software update???

I hope that they fix the issue with Apple Remote Desktop not working it's driving me nuts!
but I'm in Canada and the download is humming along! 6mins to go

Im impressed with Apple for making the smart move to focus on performance and stability.

I'm satisfied with leopard's layout & UI.

Because SL is anything but mature - or was in the previous 2 builds.

Still no sign of W3C Geolocation API in Safari.

The Dock menus have now moved completely over to Marble.

I wonder if it will fix the problem I have been seeing where my screensaver won't come on, and my display won't go to sleep at all...leaving my monitor on all day (and looks awful when I come home due to burn in).

Dude, it's been out for an hour. Give it some real testing rather than the battery life indicator. Also, if there were a stuck/respawning process in the previous build due to a bug - that would have artificially reduced your battery life before rather than the new build increasing your battery life.

Just log into ADC and get the new Remote Desktop beta that works great on 10.6.

Pretty sure that its because the previous build was not as optimized for notebooks like this one. Keep in mind this was on a new Apple battery that was replaced this week.

How about some screenshots of the new Dock stuffs? Don't worry, nobody's looking :p

What I meant to say is that battery is far more stable than it was on the previous builds. I still stand by my claims that battery life is improved. It shows...

Downloading the update now. That list view in the Dock looks good. In my opinion, now that grid view and list view have the same black, QuickTime X-like theme, fan view needs to somehow change as well.

Any other new features people have found? I'm slightly wary of the battery life increase: sounds too good to be true!

Will update when done.

Yeah, black is the new white. :)

Edit: Forgot to mention that my dock is custom. (JetBlack)

Grr...

The download finished, and it was going at a good rate, but it was said to be corrupted. I think it was because of an internet glitch the first time, and then I plugged it into ethernet. Maybe it screwed up the file?

Anyways, connected to ethernet right now. Currently at 463.2 and barely moving. Says 5 hours right now. :( We'll see how it goes. Ugh... now it says 6. Now 7.

That's what mine was doing.. I gave up.

I really hope they don't go overboard with this whole "HUD" theme. Makes sense for menu/list views but next thing we'll see is Safari sporting the same theme... ;) Hopefully they do update the user interface some more though.

So far 10A402 is running great for me (SR MBP 2.2GHZ 4GB). I was having the trackpad issue as well in the previous build where it would simply stop working for 2-3 minutes. Hopefully that's fixed.

Mines... sort of moving. I'll just keep it plugged in and check in on it once in a while. Though if this one doesn't work... I don't want to keep trying because of all the bandwidth it eats up. I know Comcast's is 250 Gb... But I watch a lot of Netflix D:

Mine did the same, but I didn't glitch at all during the download process, it finished downloading then said that it was corrupted. Apple really needs to give this some more bandwidth, or something.

Yeah, black is the new white. :)

If that isn't part of Marble, I don't know what is. Especially since they are adding stuff after the developer preview, there's no reason not to suspect that more is coming, especially since it requires little in developer testing.

Man, that new list view looks fantastic. Personally I don't like Quicktime X's interface right now simply because of the title bar looking horrible with the traffic lights, but if did something along the lines of what going on in that list view that would be fantastic.

I can't get this until later tonight, can you guys test something for me:

- In 10a394 they took out the ability to right click on and app icon and then select "Assign Application To" and assign it to a space. Is this back in? It was in 10a380.

- When I upgraded from 10a380 to 10a394 Mail wouldn't remember if sorted my messages by "Date Received -> Descending". Anytime I left the current mailbox and came back it would revert to "Date Received -> Ascending" which was driving me nuts.

I'll post about these later if no one else does.
