What hardware do you have? MBP what graphics and cpu?
I have a MBP, 4,1 with 2.5 GHz Core 2 Duo and GeForce 8600M GT. Handbrake works just fine when I run Leopard.
What hardware do you have? MBP what graphics and cpu?
Hm. For the people who can't get iStat or Menu Meters to work, what system are you using?
I plan to upgrade the HD in my Mac Mini '09, so I just thought "Hey, lets see how the beta runs on a 64-bit," but although MM and iS worked in Leopard it now wont open. I noticed on the top bar it says "32-bit," so I'm not sure. It's still working flawlessly on my Intel CD MacBook so maybe thats the problem for now.
Eeeekkk... I just read on the ADC support forum that Mac minis will not be able to run SL in 64 bit mode, not even if you buy one with SL on it. 64 bit requires more then just a CPU that can process the kernel in 64 bit mode. Don't ask I am just the messenger...
That's fine, I'm not that head over heels for 64-bit anyways. I bought the Mac to solve the problems I had with my MacBook and it did just that.

Hi. I'd like to know is someone with an MX Revolution found a way (or a fix) to use it on 64-bits. With LCC 2.6 it only works on 32-bits and I don't know if Steermouse is supported.
Find me a statement by Apple stating those UI changes are labeled as "Marble."
Marble isn't a complete new UI, Marble is a version of Aqua. I didn't think that would be such a tough concept for people to grasp![]()
Cause it doesn't exist. Hard to grasp something thats made up by fans.
It's true that Marble doesn't exist according to Apple (at least not publicly), but most of us just use it as an easy way of referencing the UI changes they are making to their software, so don't get so bent out of shape when someone mentions it.
It doesn't matter if Apple doesn't call it Marble, the fact of the matter is that Aqua is changing, it's been changing since 10.0, everyone knows that. If people want to call the new version of Aqua Marble, then so be it. Fine, it's not a new UI, and it's not officially recognized by apple, so what? People like to call it marble. I just don't see why people go "NO! APPLE DOESN'T CALL IT MARBLE SO NOBODY ELSE CAN CALL THE CHANGE IN AQUA MARBLE!! ZOMGG!!"

I see, it just confuses me cause people refer to it as "HUD" and "Marble."
Best evidence that Aqua will change is the image of the change to the Aqua slider bar that happened in the last build of Snow Leopard. I think it looks HOT!![]()
The slider is (and always has been) in 10.5. It pulses when you have 'ambient light changes' ticked.
omg teh MARBLE is in 10.5!
I should have saved you the trouble and told you it's water under my bridge now. However, I'm still keeping the rumor that 10.7 UI will be "Geometricalystic."Krafty,
People including myself refer to it as "Marble" because according to rumors that is the internal code name that Apple uses for the UI. You can see changes that we might argue are "Marble" or pieces of it in the newest builds of Snow Leopard.
Mention of code name "Marble":
I just finished the update to 10A402 ... looks and runs pretty good.
One question, i heard on the Keynote that it will be possible to zoom into lets say open emails while being still in exposé mode. Does the zoom work already in this early version? If so - how do i zoom ?
You mean quicklook? Just press space to make it full screen. It works in all type of Expose modes.

Wow. Watching as it pulses, I really don't like it.
Why does everyone hate Aqua? I like it. If they got rid of it I would stop using my mac (of course, that's IF that marble thing looks anything like iTunes).
They have to keep Aqua and make marble just an addition.
You and me... I just have to let go... SL is still pretty darn fast.![]()
So where can I find a slider like that to do it?
Yeah, but I'm kinda thinking maybe I should downgrade my Mini back down to Leopard for now. I'm not using it for anything since I need to upgrade the RAM & HD badly first, and if SL not out by then I was going to stick to Leopard on it.
I really wish I could install iLeopard.
What is iLeopard? If your have SL installed it will still run faster the 10.5!
In my post you quoted, Displays > Ambient light changes.
In my previous post, I stated it must be a hardware issue. I have SL on my Late 2006 MacBook and 2009 Mac Mini, so no, I am not running them in leopard.
They work flawlessly on my 2006 MacBook, I already had them installed and they continued to work.
However, I installed them on Leopard on my Mini, and then decided to upgrade it to SL, and thats when they stopped working. When clicking on the preference, it says it has to reboot System Pref, and at the top bar is says "32-bit," but none of the iStat menus would activate, and Menu Meters froze when trying to activate.
One of the major differences between my two Macs is my MacBook is a Core Duo and the mini's a Core 2 Duo, so perhaps, it has something to do with the hardware.
Using the CPU monitor:
Left is the error I get on the mini
Right is the CPU monitor working on my MacBook. The fanspeed & HD activity is also present in the menubar.
